Does anyone know any sites or know anything about the third game in the "Brain" series (Brain Age, etc.)? I can't find anything about it... Im just curious how it will be different from the first two... which are both great!

Brain Age and Big Brain Academy are not part of a "Brain" series. The only thing they share in common is that they are part of Nintendo's "Touch Generations" label which is aimed at atypical gamers. Brain Age was developed with scientific consultation, Big Brain Academy was not. Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan of both, but you can tell their aimes are very different.

The sequel, Brain Age 2 (which I am guessing will be the US title) won't be coming out this year, I think. Since Brain Age 1 just came out about a month ago, and Nintendo probably won't want to take much attention off Wii's launch. So, maybe next year.

Here is a review someone posted about the Japanese version of Brain Age 2:

It kind of sucks that we won't be receiving a lot of similar titles spawned from this game, though. The edutainment genre is huge for the DS in Japan, including games for learning and practicing English, kanji, and other subjects.

If you like these kind of games, other companies are capitalizing on this trend, such as Point Blank DS.

Point Blank DS is similar to Brain Age? Seriously?

Yeah... I was wondering about that myself...

Point Blank DS has a "brain training" mode which you just play through normal levels and then the game rates you on the same type of categories that Big Brain Academy has.. it's rather shameless if you ask me.

Like I said, capitalizing on the trend. If you think about it though, it makes sense. Point Blank originally had target recognition mini-games, which are similar to Big Brain's matching or identify games. Although, I can't say how scientific it is.

Interesting. I had no idea it had a mini-game like that.

It's a light gun game, they all have a "friend-or-foe" aspect to them. How fast you can recognize them is probably what it measures.
