I agree, on ebay you can buy one that has already been used, so you can know up front if it has bad pixels or not. I got mine that way and for the price of a new one I got one with about $150 worth of accessories. You just have to do all the prudent things that one does when shopping on ebay. Also, I suggest getting a "buy it now" if you can to avoid snipers.

Meijer has coupons once in a while for 20% off anything in the store. Also, Dell had it on sale for $160 back in April, but that sale is unfortunately over. Some WalMarts are clearancing their Value Packs for the same price as Core Packs.
