I picked it up from EB today and it is fucking awesome. We have been playing multiplayer all day. Take the best stuff from smash bros, toss in some power stone, and top if off with ninjas and thats what you have.

Yes, I've had all three for a while and the 2nd and 3rd one is a great improvment. I remember years back when I played the first one though, it was great!

I'd say go straight to 3. Only get 2 if you can get it on the cheap or you want it to complete a collection.

I agree. Three's system for ougis/supers is a little different but it adds a bit of strategy into it. Both 2 and 3 also has a adventure mode where it's like a 3D world where it's like story things. However, 3 basically improves upon 1 and 2 in everyway. If I said something wrong though, someone feel free to correct me. I haven't played 1 or 2 in a while.

Wow, this game is a whole lot of fun.

I've only gone through Saga mode with Naruto and Rock Lee. Having a great time so far. I really like how over-the-top the game feels. I love being able to jump into different parts of the background. The "Special Technique" animations are a blast to watch. Are the ones in Naruto 3 just as crazy? :)

Oh and Kakashi's Level 1 technique is awesome. "Your Future is death"

Am I the only person having trouble jumping to other stages? Right when it tells me to push ^+X I just do some jump in the air, never going to the other stage.

are you holding ^ and then hitting X? or are you tapping ^ then hitting the X button. that may or may not be the problem.

Completely different. This one's more like Smash Brothers.

How much Ryo are you putting in?

I find that going through each level of the missions yields a ton of Ryo. That way I can put 1000 Ryo (maximum allowed), and cut down drastically on how many blanks I pull.

Mission mode is a whole lot easier once you have unlocked Orochimaru :)

I figured that out about putting in more lowers the chance of blanks. There's enough to unlock without drawing blanks all the time. I usually put in about 500 or so in since I don't like to spend so much of it at once.

the missions are seriously hindering my enjoyment of this game. it just seems like they are hard/annoying just to be hard/annoying.

I am half way through the C-Rank missions and annoyed as hell trying to beat this one particular one.

1. Beat opponent
2. You must have less than 10% health
3. You must hit the opponent with more than 6 additional blows.

It's annoying because there are times where your opponent has a very low amount of health, when you need to hit them 2 more times. Also when their support characters hop and out and offer them health, they rarely take it. There have been times I've played through this mission and maybe have +2-3% more health left than the mission asks for, yea thats annoying.

What's the deal with playing import PS2 games? I know you can use freeloader for the GC stuff, but with a PS2, do you have to mod it first?

I have beaten a quarter of the B-rank missions, but it will not let me go further until I beat the final C-rank mission.

No. I believe it's over three years old in Japan, so there's pretty much no way that it'll be on any other platform.

the reviews for blade dancer in egm were very harsh. like ~3/10 average

I'm STILL stuck on that mission. I put the game down for a while because I was getting so frustrated :)

I want to unlock Nine Tails Naruto though.
