I saw this first on joystiq.com, which linked to gonintendo.com:

Seems reasonable and in line with the earlier news of Nintendo wanting to get to market before PS3 and in time for Thanksgiving. Hopefully, EB will start taking preorders soon - I've got over $200 in credit stored up and I'm afraid I'm going to waste it before I have a chance to put money towards the system, Metroid Prime 3 and Zelda!

Interesting... hopefully that date isn't true, though. I want the Wii sooner. ;)

Generally Sports Illustrated for Kids is correct in it's video game news, such as their in depth report on steroid use in MLB Slugfest 2006 and their extensive coverage of the NBA Live draft

Well.. you have to give them credit, first time I've seen anyone call it "The Wii" from Nintendo instead of the Nintendo Wii (which is what I still incorrectly call it)

well, i dont think theyre a very reliable source when it comes to gaming news (then again i never read it) but the date certainly sounds plausible

It's the fucking Nintendo Wii, I'll be damned if I will call it "The Wii". Nintendo is known for having sticks up their asses with the names. It's not "Gamecube" it's "GameCube", then the whole press release for how to spell the GBA right. They should shut their fucking mouths and make some games.

Take a powder, dude.
11/6 is fine by me, though that gives them an ample (10 day) head start on Sony, on top of the significant price advantage. I doubt they'll launch any later than that, but who knows. I can't be too sure that I believe SI for Kids though.

Sports Illustrated is not something I would look at for my gaming news. For my scantily clad women maybe, but not videogame news.
However, the date would be one I could live with, if not sooner; it would give enough time for the holiday season.

Doesn't Nintendo usually release their systems on Sundays?

As WHM said, SI for Kids is about as hard-hitting as gaming journalism gets. I mean, they were the first to report on 1up.com sucking ass and broke the story of Mario's molesting of baby Luigi.
