I can see where the people here may think it's a great idea, but I can say there's a strong chance this may die out quickly if they don't get enough steam power behind them...

yeah, that's why I see this site going out of business pretty quickly.

That or the use of "eBay" in their slogan.

Welcome to Gamers Bay, the Ebay for Gamers. Feel free to sign up at no cost. You can list your game(s) for any platform for halve of the price you pay at Ebay. Feel free to invite your friends.I wouldn't even give them "halve" the chances of succeeding compared to eBay.

I know Defender had a gaming auction site for awhile but sold it to some British guy.

I can already sign up and use www.gametz.com (http://www.gametz.com) and www.tradegamesnow.com (http://www.tradegamesnow.com) for free, and almost anyone on those sites is willing to sell their games, so why do I need another game trading site now, one that I actually have to pay for?

That or the use of "eBay" in their slogan.heh.
I thought about starting a game auction site too, but figure its pretty much a waste of time to try and compete with eBay.
However, I should try to get some real trading features on this site at some point.
Hurray I can sell my games for half of what I get at eBay! Err... That's a selling point?
Their fees are higher than eBay to boot. Listing fee of $1 with no FVF is not much of a savings compared to the typical eBay game listing for me. Hell if I'm going to be selling for half of what I'd get on eBay they'd have to pay me about $9 or so to sell a game for $10 (half of the $20 I'd get on eBay) to break even. ;)
Check the About Us page. All kinds of grammar problems and a big bit in the middle mandating no higher than $2.50 for shipping charges?
Why would a seller decide to sell here rather than eBay? The only reason I could think of is if you are related/personal friends with the site operator.
That site has 0 chance without a major redesign and even then I'd give it about a snowball's chance.

No but honestly, searchable lists would be a great start. Perhaps a modification of the profile template to include a searchable section of haves and wants for game titles? That would be more of a bandaid for the current system.
A full blown trading vehicle would be REALLY great... it's the only thing that keeps me going to other sites for trading rather than right here at home with CAG.
Cheapy, hear our pleas!
edit: I will reference the old topic.. there were some good ideas here (http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=62645).
