Demolition Man makes CAG a better site because of his useful info that he posts about Circuit City video game deals. Also, he provides a great deal of info about TNA in the wrestling threads.

I honestly think that OneTrackMind is one of my best friends on the board and a great contributor to the forums in general. He's funny, smart, and he's a great guy if you ever talk to him.

The only thing that surpasses his humor is his skills with graphics and Photoshop. Nowadays you can't seem to enter a thread where someone doesn't have a sig made by him or any sort of graphic in one form or the other. His free sig shop service (which, unfortunately, seems to have died with no signs of resurrection) spewed out dozens of quality sigs that everyone enjoyed to use. His popularity never got the best of him, and he gave any credit where it was due.

I wish he was more active on the forums and on AIM, but sadly his job seems to take up a lot of his time.

Godspeed to him.

The Successful dropout

Was a great poster while he was here, as well as a great trader. Now he is rarely seen on CAG, but is auctioning away all of his stuff. So all the great deals he got back from CAG he is now giving back to the "new" CAG community.

2nd pick- joshingit. People like you giving away a game, is great for the community.

GuilewasNK.

This gentleman treats everyone with fairness, respect, and is willing to be friends with anyone here. He has a wide array of interests, is funny, creates entertaining threads, is very helpful to the CAG community, makes nice sigs, and without ever meeting him, I can truly say that he is one hell of a guy. GuilewasNK is what every CAG should hope to be and is a great example of an all-around good human-being.

Joevan.

One of the absolute best Sellers/Buyers/Traders on CAG today. Without Joe and his 122 iTrader Feedback ( and counting ) a lot of use wouldn't have got so many great deals from him.

Recently he sold me Hitman: Blood Money 360 and Table Tennis 360 ( New ) for 70.00 Shipped. I would have bought these games either way and would have spent 100.00 plus tax on the 2 but with his great deals I saved myself $36.50. He opens himself up as being a True member of CAG. Not only looking for cheap deals himself but hooking us up with great deals from his Tradelist.

Also, Joevan is a stand up guy. He's is always nice and polite. Mostly a laugh riot, his funny posts amuse us while being serious when needed.

Joevan = CAG at heart

Almost every post he makes is very informative and helpful. He is also one of the few people here who really knows and understands a lot about the technical side of video games and the industry in general. Usually after reading one of his posts I get the feeling that I actually learned something new, can't say that about most posters.

speedy1961 simply because he posts the ads very early and I can always plan my purchases ahead without having to waste time going store to store to see who has the best deals. He also seems like a very good and helpful guy in general.

Although he's a total dick, I don't think CAG would be the same without JimmieMac.

His bitingly sarcastic insults and remarks certainly get a reaction out of almost anyone, and he's a personality that really stands out. He's a mainstay of the forums that's been around for a while and therefore has some seniority. Furthermore, he makes for an excellent villain for us all to love to hate, with his painfully true (and clever) remarks, he certainly adds some well-needed liveliness to this place.

Shrike all the way!

Because CAG trading is a big reason why I love CAG and why CAG is better than a lot of other forums. Keeping your trades safe and making sure both parties get their items, someone has to do the dirty job of dealing with any problems, and Shrike has taken that on. He keeps all trades in order, deals with problems, and does his best to control situations that aware, and hes done an awesome job! Without him, trading at CAG just wouldn't be safe and would be risky, and because he continues to do the job, I continue to trade. Keep it up Shrike :D

Cheapy may have had the vision, but Defender was for a long time the Atlas upon whos shoulders CAG rested. Atleast, I think. :-k Eitherway, he's done a lot for us behind the scenes and never really gets thanks.

Actually, I don't think you can make the claim that any one person makes CAG. We're a community and everyone of us helps make CAG what it is. Whether you're a midwest Asian pimp, an east coast pants-shitter, a moody former moderator living in WA or even a crustacean looking for massive damage- we all are just one brick in the home of cheap videogame deals ...and love. Hot sweat man on man nerd love.

Strell

He showcases the cheapassness need to be a member of the site, and he showcases the humor of the site. sure there are tons of cheap game sites out there, but I came back to this one because of the attitude. We can take shots at ourselves, we aren't uptight, we know we are cheap and embrace it and I think Strell sums this up well.

Plus anyone that can photoshop in a image of a large crab into any picture is awesome in my book.

benboxer

He embodies what i think of when i think of CAG (and I don't even really know much about him). He gets my vote because he reliably and diligently posted TRU markdowns week after week, even though most of the time they weren't anything special. People would come into the threads and say "These deals suck, but thanks anyway.", and while this was often true, he would post them in hopes that somebody, somewhere could find use in them.

...and then, he got his big break. The December 2005 TRU sale rocked the foundations of CAG with its quality, but it was just benboxer doing what he always did. He kept everyone updated, he answered questions when asked, and he didn't get an ego about posting the sale. After the dust had settled, there was benboxer, continuing to reliably post TRU pricedrops even when they weren't anything special.

I can't recall any posts of his other than the TRU posts, but that's enough to get my nomination. Without dedicated people like benboxer, CAG wouldn't run the way it does. I applaud you for sticking with it even when the deals weren't great, and I'm glad that you eventually got a megaton to post. You deserved it.

Anybody can get lucky and stumble upon a megadeal, but it makes me smile when the hardworkers get the credit they deserve.

I have to nominate Strell as well. (hey, rhymin and stylin...). He's an outstanding trader (I've had at least three trades with him, and he's thrown in extra stuff too, something I hope to pay him back for). He's a very funny guy. He's so anal about his setup that I have to applaud him for his style and neatness.

I also love the fact that giant enemy crabs are always a threat.

Honorable mentions go to Admiral Ackbar, for his classic 'It's a Trap' posts, and slidecage for not paying close enough attention to the news and blaming missle launches on the wrong country.

Deal poster: this changes a lot but right now my CAG hero has to be Demolition Man for getting us dibs on the Circuit City sale weeks before it officially started. That was some great work and easily my favorite sale this year so far.

as far as forum posters go, I can't begin to make that call, because there are a lot of good posters on this site! so yeah, everyone gets a cookie...even slidecage for cracking me up. Special props to the fighter thread!

I'm sorry, but I just can't name one. There are too many of us the make CAG what it is.
Cag is just awesome, this site helps us save money on our hobbie, and in general it is a great site to come to on the internet, for crazy off topic disscusions, games(IMO the best place to trade your games), movies, quests for 360's, taking shits, giant crabs, Kicking over magazine racks, then throwing glitter on someone and whatever else you can think of. CAG is great!

Thanks Swift900, always a pleasure.

The CAG community is what it is because the majority of the members on this site have passion for gaming and cheapness, its really hard to pinpoint one person but if I have to pick someone it would definately be:

shipwreck

IMO he's one of the best mods here at CAG, he's fair and he provides us with great information on the GameRush board, and does an awesome job at keeping the boards clean. He really deserves a pat on the back and a raise ;)

That and the fact that he picked up :xbox: Psychonauts for me and sold it to me at cost+shipping

CAG is a community where every member is essential to it. Everyone from the Japanophiles to the "Free iPod" spammers, the fat wallet hoarders, the GameFAQs converts, the Fake Celebrity Members, the Poopin' attorneys,Vietnamese ladies asking for workout tips, douchebags with chipped teeth, A motherfuckin' New England Icon, Giant Crustaceans being flipped, and the Hot Mario Avatars. It's a melting pot of nerds and cheap bastards, and I'm not really sure where I fit in, but I love it.

Strell.
His Nintendo fanboyism represents CAGs the world over.
I mean, what kind of CAG doesn't go crazy over a console that's 1/3 the price of a PS3?
And his constant joygasms during the E3 keynote?
So powerful I felt them here in Cincy.
And he's dead sexy.
As in sexy when he's dead.

And we will all weap, not for his passing, but because he doesn't look like his avatar.

If you post on the fighter thread you surely know apossum, he's a great guy, makes informative posts and always post good time killing links (like interviews with Itagaki). What makes him the best however, even better than Shrike imo, is back when I was ordering a fliptop for my ps2 so that I could start importing, he was more than helpful. my vote goes towards io (http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/member.php?find=lastposter&t=97286)...

In the world of CAG: He's a great team member and is always helping when needed. He's honest and is a great participant in anything on CAg that he is involved with ranging from casual talk, gaming chit-chat, and deal discussion. I always find a new way to admire his input here on CAG.

In the real world: He's a busy working father of a a bunch of Nintendo grown kids (check his avatar for proof). His compassion for gaming obviously shows in how he raises his kids. He's very likeable and very open about his life. Wonderful guy :)

Overall, guys like this make CAG a place I can keep comming back to.

I'm a big fan of WhipSmartBanky. Ever since this site opened up that guy could always make me laugh. And the thing he is doing with the tshirts is just awesome.

I've mentioned him now in two contests...I swear I'm not a stalker!

CheapyD makes CAG. Not only did he literally make the site, he adds to it day by day and stays involved in every aspect. He always knows whats going on around here and gives us coupons and deals for anything and everything. Without him, noone would have free shipping on everything they buy from EB/Gamestop.

Ozzkev55. He sent me a sig (one I have now) via PM one day without me even asking for one. He was cool as hell about it telling me he knows how much I like Bill and he just whipped out a quick sig for me. He went on about if I didn't like it he would make me a beter one but I love my sig. Thanks again OTM and thanks for keeping CAG a beautiful place. We could use more like you around here and less hoarders around here. Thanks OP and all the other good CAG on this site that go underappreciated and unknown :applause:

Also I would like to give a shoutout to all the good nongreedy helpful CAG on the trading forum. Share the wealth, that's what I always say (and do.)

Hmmm I have to choose a CAG? Lets see...I would have to say CheapD, he did make the site and I couldnt really be even posting this without him. Due to his existence, making the site, and then me joining, I was able to save a lot of money on games I normally would be buying at full price. This has helped with learning to spend wisely and will help me in the future. I have a learned a great deal of knowledge from this site. I no longer buy games without coupans, I protect all my games, I go to every garage sell I see, I learned that patience is a great deal when buying a game.

If it wasnt for CheapD, none of this would have happened. I greatly appreciate him and the community. Thank You. And with that, I say "Can I have my game now? Im broke"

ARGH! NOT A 6 MONTH MEMBER! I am so annoyed. W/e. I'll just leave it on, just in case. Please?

I collect vintage video game systems. It's what I like to do. I've looked far and wide for vintage video game systems. I'M pretty new, but if you looked at me at first glance, you'd think I was a professional! The way I flash the cash in the owners faces, the way I name flaws in the system. But, unbeknownst to you, I'm also sneaking glances at a certain guide I printed from the CAGwiki.

I realize that I chose two members, but they both worked for the same goal. Without them, I would've been stuck in my house, playing all my current gen systems. And, thanks to them, I'm up every saturday morning, Flashing the cash in sellers faces, pointing out flaws in the system, and questioning strange old women to see if their 20 year old sons left any videogames behind that she didn't put out. So, If you want a real credit to the CAG community, choose these two. Because without them, I wouldn't have such a notourious reputation with several garage sale companies.

Shipwreck makes CAG what it is, not only for his impressive collection of games, but for his general attitude towards the site - he generally wants to be helpful. Many informative threads have been created, but some of the most informative are borne from shipwreck's devotion to the site; I checked fervently through my local Gamestop for games that were in his Pricegrabber $5 rebate form topic, and I happened to come across at least six that were less than $5. When I printed the forms that he provided and sent them in, I received about $10 more than I originally spent, and the games were as good as free. The fact that he is a dilligent, unbiased, and generally well-intentioned member is what makes CAG what it is - if it wasn't for him, this forum would be less of a bargain hunting site and more of a "lozl flaming cuz we kool" site, and the last thing we need is another one of those.

EVERY MEMBER Just like the rest I'm greatful for CheapyD and his vision. Also you can't say enough about the mods and how they keep everything going. Though these are at the top, it is the members as a whole that make CAG. Whether you're a newb posting/trading for the first time or that first member to post the next great deal. So many great names come to mind, Scorch, Roufuss, Pookymeister, Terabyte7 and the list goes on. Each one of us makes CAG and that is what makes this site so great. A gaming community whose goal is to help out those who are strapped for cash. Money is tight for most and this site allows us to stretch that measily paycheck to it's full potential:-P

This list is in no what comprehensive. There are far too many people that make CAG what it is to narrow it down.

Javeryh: For Poop stories and legal advice.
Jaykrue: For Poon stories and real estate advice.
WhipSmartBanky: For the art and teh ha-ha's.
Angellic Lulu: For the love of the tots (I'm talking about the kids she's teaching, you pervs.)
Shrike: The old man, keeps the board running orderly.
Neko Hime: Allows CheapyD to do this, and if funny and interesting to boot.
Epobirs: Smarter than you. :)

I have to nominate a few people here.

Shrike - He has given me amazing advice, went out of his way to pick up games at sales for me, and came over and hooked up my dsl/xbl for me. He's always been nothing but nice to me and is an huge assest to the community here. He basically keeps the trade forums going and is one of the few most unselfish people i've ever met.

JoeVan - Definetly one of my best friends on the board. Besides just the simple things like bumping up my tradelist he's also done his fair share of awesome things for fellow cags.

Moxio - The guy has one of the best sense of humor, and i've honestly never seen him be mean to a single person on the boards. Hes laid back and usually openly gives out advice when people ask for it.

mykeverin - i could read this guys posts all day. Its a rare thing when i actually look forward to a certain cag posting their thoughts on something like i do with myke.

The first member that came to mind was CheapyD for obvious reasons, but then I noticed he was mentioned many times already. So I have a couple of backups:

Shrike - for policing the boards and helping make the forums run smoothly
Javeryh - for having Lionel Hutz as an avatar and for making the day go by a little faster with his toilet threads.

Well, my CAG, representative of CAGdom would have to be Moeity.
Now, I'd been yardsaling and going to flea markets ever since I was five or six, driving along with my parents.

I remember paying five or ten dollars for a random NES or SNES game, just because I had to buy something. I remember being a little kid, afraid to haggle on prices or anything of the sort.

More recently, I've taken up Yardsaling again, inspired last year by Moeity and EvilMax's yard sale finds, and how they were able to walk out of any given sale carrying dozens of games, a few systems, and a couple of pounds of lego's for a few Washingtons.

I never really stopped 'saling, but they helped me become smart at it.
Last saturday for example, I saw a PSOne that I'd been looking for, marked at 25 dollars. Had I not been following the Yard sales finds thread, I would have either not gotten it at all, or payed the 25 dollars.

I cashed in face 8 dollars and got it. I have to thank the Moeity, Evilmax, Snotknocker, and the rest of the greats from the Yard Sale thread, simply for being ballsy enough to lowball enough to get great deals. It inspires me to do the same, be a Cheapass, and get great deals as well.:D

A couple of votes:

-Strell for being the funniest fucker on CAG. Even when he Nintentrolls, it's usually hillarious. He's probably my favorite CAGer simply for being funny as hell.

An ode to Strell:

Every day after the sun rises
A PS3 fanboy surmises
A way to take down that rash hermit
Posting on the net with fervor and grit
Still, they cannot seize him with their insults
Harsh words he drinks down like chocolate malts
He unravels their logic with tenacity
With his unrivaled wit and assity
His name is Strell
He gives em hell
Like a ray of sunshine he grows my heart
With his lovely avatar, stolen from Mario Kart.

Thanks Strell.

-6669 for the tons of free magazines and being OMG A GIRL!!111 Seriously though, she is really the epitome of what a good CAG should be. Someone who is helpful in finding out deals, sincere in trying to help people out, and in generally a pleasant and level headed CAG in threads. Thanks for being such a not asshole in threads when there are people who, like me, can get out of line by getting pissed off at people for posting things I consider stupid and silly in threads.

-And people like joshingit for not only putting up cool contests just for the hell of it, but for also being awesome traders (thanks again for Electroplankton).

Also, I'd like to thank my b/f for posting some of the magazine offers for me while I was at school.

Curious as to what you posted, I looked through the posts and can't seem to find yours.
I actually couldn't decide on just one person to vote for. There are so many CAGs that fit the criteria, that I couldn't vote for just one. Also, several people voted for me, and I kinda felt bad that if I ended up voting for someone different. I probably should have just posted a list of several CAGs (I had about 30) to vote for, but then I still would have left some people off that deserved to be there.

That's how I would interpret the rules as well. You can't deny Jessica Alba though
Still holding on to the Jessica Alba likeness, huh?

He offered to buy me any game I wanted. I picked Obscure (a game I wanted but couldn't find or afford), which was available on his tradelist. I didn't want to make him go out of his way and spend over $50 on a game for me. I would have had a hard time accepting that. I also dont want to take advantage of anyone's generosity. He did offer to buy me any game I wanted though, I just couldn't really accept that.
