Uncharted: Drake's Fortune Completed! (Hard)

By kidicarus23 Today 05:38 AM
I'm one step closer to fulfilling my goal of getting the Platinum Trophy for Uncharted 1. Just finished Hard difficulty tonight and quickly started Crushing difficulty. It takes 2-3 shots and then you're dead... this is gonna be hell, especially in the latter part of the game where guys are coming around from all sides. I completed the first 3 Chapters so far, just taking my time day by day.

In the meantime Borderlands, for some reason I'm really struggling in trying to enjoy the game. Many people like this game, but I'm guessing this game is not my cup of tea. But I'm still playing it, hoping that it will get more interesting and plus I would love to get the Platinum Trophy for this game as well. Shoot me a FR on PSN (user id: JoshSupreme83) and we can play some Borderlands, NBA 2K10, SOCOM, or just chat it up. I would love to play with some of my fellow CAGers.

U like racing games? Then help save Spa-Francorchamps!!!

By luvmysegadc Today 05:11 AM
My reasoning maybe flawed and this maybe a long shot, but please consider:

If you are a fan of racing games (Forza, GRID, Gran Turismo, Race Pro, etc.) like me, you always find joy in racing some of your favorite tracks -- Road America, Bathrust, Monaco, Monza, Le Mons, et al. Sadly, one of the world's most famous venues is under attack and may not hold another event until the year 2026!!! That place is Spa-Francorchamps.

Read article here

In my mind, real racing at these famous circuits allow us gamers to virtually race there. Sure it's possible that if there are no longer any real races there that the virtual version of the track will end up in future games. But it's the thrill of watching on television in the hope that one day you can step foot on such hallowed ground to watch in person...or even actually race there.

So I'm asking my fellow virtual racers to show your support to the locals in Belgium and please sign the petition...

Review Roundup: Half-Minute Hero, Kenka Bancho: Badass Rumble, & RCF: A Crack in Time

By FriskyTanuki Today 03:26 AM
Despite the large amount of delays into 2010 that we saw, there are still more than enough games coming out that I'm satisfied with what I've seen and played so far this fall. The PSP especially has had a good lineup of quality games so far this holiday season that probably hasn't been true for the system since maybe 2007. That includes two of the reviews in this post, which include quirky games like XSeed's Half-Minute Hero and Atlus' Kenka Bancho: Badass Rumble that adds nicely to the big-named games that surround their releases. On the PS3, Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time is one of the few Sony-published games in their unusually thin holiday lineup for this year, though there is a lot of quality in the two games they've put out so far. Let's move on to the reviews themselves.

Half-Minute Hero

"Half-Minute Hero does a great job of being a refreshing experience that combines unique takes on four very different genres...

Which coupon to use? 12% off, triple reward zone points, $100 or $130 gift card?

By ITDEFX Today 01:27 AM

Ok I am just about to buy my new plasma tv

The Panasonic TC-p58S1 for $1800 at best buy

I have several options on this:

Hit the $1800 with a 12% coupon (216 off) =$1584

Hit the $1800 with Triple reward zone points (1800x3)=5400+25% (extra bonus from Silver Status)=$6570 in reward zone points

Hit the $1800 with the geek squad $100 off coupon (which they forgot to give me today grr) for $1700

Hit the $1800 with the $130 free gift card promo , however the reward zone system will dock the 130 from the 1800 :(

No matter which coupon I hit the tv with, I will get that extra 25% bonus for silver status. I have a $70 gift card and $85 in reward zone certificates plus 3 years with no interest. I can use any savings towards the tv warranty, the lg 390 br player, receiver and speakers.

My Gaming Collection Part 5

By 1NintendoFan Yesterday 06:21 PM
Here's the final entry in this series of blogs

In this blog you will find some odds and ends I own as well as some of the things I'm planning to get in the future.

First off is my huge collection of Strategy Guides:

That's right, I have a bunch of them, in case you couldn't count them all, that's two I have always liked the look of strategy guides, but never really bought them. They look amazing, but they cost too much on top of the game, especially when most of the info can be found online anyway and I just don't have the space to store them. I'd like to try and start collecting some of the nicer guides, which is how I got started with these two. First was Super Mario Galaxy, I just liked the overall look and design of the book. Once I start playing Super Mario Galaxy, I will probably use this to go back and get some of the stars I missed. I bought Little Big Planet's strategy guide because I had some money left...

Great times at the Asylum (Batman: Arkham Asylum Impressions)

By Tengaport Yesterday 05:42 PM

I need to start with a confession here. I had absolutely zero interest in Batman Arkham Asylum right up until I got my hands on the game. I'm just not big on superheros and I all but ignored all the PR around this game. I half-heatedly checked out the demo when that was released, but it didn't nothing to sway my disinterest. Batman Arkham Asylum was a game I was perfectly content with passing on.

One by one though I kept hearing accolades from friends about just how great this game is. Could it be possible? Was I missing out on something? After the high praise from those of you whose opinions I value reached critical mass I decided I need to give the game a shot and check it out for myself. What I found, much to my surprise, was a game that is easily a contender for Game of the Year.

I'm not sure how it all happened honestly. Perhaps it was the intriguing, cinematic opening of

I've liked the new CAG site ever since it first appeared except for one aspect: The Cagcast options. You get a button that plays or pauses but no fast forward or rewind on the in browser player. This s me up every time I accidentally go click on the deals page or something else by accident. I then need to fast forward with the crappy quicklime player or re listen to what I should be able to fast forward through. Please John, look at the Smodcast page here: http://www.quickstopentertainment.co...6/smodcast-96/ . It has a pop up player that is just the browser player so there is no chance of accidentally clicking a link while the player is playing.

Paid $20.89 for $88.00 worth of Batman Toys. Winner: Toys for Tots!!!

There have been some memorable "ZOMG AMAZING" purchases that happen when I'm absolutely not looking. One of my most recent endeavors was buying some $300 worth Schick Quattro Titanium razor blades for ~$100 when a local Krogers had them on clearance, plus a packed-in coupon.

But today's deal definitely tops the list of "Best Purchase Ever" because I am not the ultimate benefactor...

So my wife and I went to the mall today to renew her driver's license, and I noticed a $1 bill as we walked along. I decided to pick it up and donate it to a local charity box, but couldn't find one so I held onto it (literally, never putting it in my pocket or wallet) to make sure I didn't keep it. We walked around the mall some more aimlessly and I noticed a new "Toys R Us Express Store" had opened up. Curious to see what was inside, we headed in.

We spent ~15 minutes look at the action figures sections but I didn't see anything...

Real Court Exchanges.......Funny Or Not

By adriley313 Yesterday 03:30 PM
So my friend sent me this email.
Tell me what you think.
Funny or Not

These are from a book called Disorder in the American Courts, and are things people actually said in court, word for word, taken down and now published by court reporters that had the torment of staying calm while these exchanges were actually taking place.

ATTORNEY: So the date of conception (of the baby) was August 8th?
WITNESS: Yes.
ATTO RNEY: And what were you doing at that time?
WITNESS: Getting laid
____________________________________________

ATTORNEY: How was your first marriage terminated?
WITNESS: By death.
ATTORNEY: And by whose death was it terminated?
WITNESS: Take a guess..
____________________________________________
ATTORNEY: Doctor, how many of your autopsies have you performed on dead people?
WITNESS: All of them.. The live ones put up too much of a fight.

Gameboy Light

By xan_theCAgamer Yesterday 02:00 PM
In my last post, I mentioned I as looking for my Gameboy Pocket. Well, storage proved to be a little too crowded at the moment; so instead I've turned to the internet to help me find one. I did, and it's awesome! I stumbled upon the Gameboy Light, first backlit GB in the Gameboy lineup. A limited quantity was released only in Japan back in '97. Just another cool handheld to add to my new, growing collection!

Finish Uncharted 2...I suck at Games....and Decisions

By bgame2 Yesterday 11:15 AM
So I finished Uncharted 2 last night. I really enjoyed it, but ultimately it made me realize that I suck at games. I played through on normal difficulty and I didn't time it, but I'm fairly certain that it took me longer than the 10 hours everyone else said it took them. The final confrontation alone (no spoilers) took me about 25 minutes.

Relatedly I've determined that I also suck at decisions. I've been debating my television purchase for 3 weeks now. I did manage to eliminate the panasonic g10 from consideration (due mostly to power consumption). That said, I promised myself that I would make the decision in under a week but still haven't pulled the trigger.

The new options (in current order of preference) are:

1. Samsung LN46B750.
2. Samsung LN40B650. Nearly the same price as the 750 for 6 inches less? I haven't figured out why.

3. Sony KDL 40 or 46W5100. A good TV but looking at it in the store, the design...

Review - Dragon Age: Origins

By Ashesinfall Yesterday 03:24 AM
So, I've been playing the hell out of DA:O since launch on Tuesday, so let's get on with the review.

Right out of the gate, I noticed how fugly this game is for its Bioware pedigree. However, this is a minor complaint. The graphics are fine, it's just that I expected more from Bioware. Anyway, I created my City Elf Rogue with the above average character creation. Again, nothing to deep, but enough for me to make an attractive protagonist. The Origin stories really captivate me. I like the idea of actually experiencing the origin of my character rather than simply choosing it and have it as back story, a la Mass Effect. I can't say I'm too big of a fan of the mute characters but, again, it works. Shortly in I was introduced to the very well done combat system. It reminds me a lot of the KOTOR combat that I fell in love with. It's sort of like the subtly turn-based combat disguised

Latest Pick-Up

Look what came in the mail when I got home today...

Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX for the Game Boy Color!

I remember playing this game a long while ago, but it was the regular Gameboy version. I didn't get the chance to play this game with the extra dungeon in it. I'm very excited to start playing this game, when I get the chance that is... with my backlog increasing and with little time to play all of these great games. But I am looking forward to it. I'm thinking about doing a Zelda Marathon... Play all of the Zelda games released in the US (minus the CD-I games of course) one after the other, either in order they came out or in no particular order at all. It's all just a matter of getting all of them in my collection.
So far I'm missing, The Four Swords Adventures, Phantom Hourglass, Oracle of Ages and Seasons and The Minish Cap I believe. I have look through my collection again, but I do believe that I have The Minish...
