I read a lot, i mean a shit ton. Where I work there is not much too do in the winter time. I play DS, Listen to my Zune, or I read. I have way too many hobbies and finding time to devote to each one is tough. I am 23 years of age as of this writing, I am happily married and my first son just turned 4 months old. I work 2 jobs, My full time job is a entry level book keeping job for a very small company of 5 stores. Accounts Payable. Its a simple job you recieve invoices everyday, you match them up with your back, expense them out and enter them to be paid. Run checks once a week and thats pretty much it. Once I finish my work for the day I am free to do as I wish. During the winter I am sent to fill in for store managers when they take vacation. Simple Job, decent pay and nice hours. Lots of free time to read and such.(I promise there is a point to this, im just tired and rambling)

Well my week started out a little rocky. I had to send off my fairly new DS Lite for repair. The L button on it doesn't work. I've never had any real problems with Nintendo hardware, so I wasn't exciting about going through the warranty process. It is already on it's way back, so I will report it's status on Monday.

After that though, my week really picked up. I had just over $100 in Walgreens Register Rewards, and I cut that down to $21. Concidentally I now have $50 in Amazon gift cards, perfect for Black Friday.

I also picked up my Thanksgiving turkey this week. It was $0.37/lb, making the 12 lb bird I picked up just under $4.50. I read an article saying that Walmart's heavily advertised $0.41/lb was a 10-year low. Just my own comparision, I traditionally just picked up a frozen turkey breast for about $7, maybe 4 lbs. I am only cooking for my boyfriend, so that was our previous more "economical" choice.

Resident Evil: Survivor is a light gun game for the original Playstation, except without the whole light gun thing. In America, the game didn't include the ability to use a light gun, even though that was the entire point of the game. It released in Japan in January 2000 and August 2000 in America. I know Resident Evil: Survivor is nine years old, and is approaching it's 10th birthday in Japan, so I'll go a little easy on it.

It seems like Capcom really half assed this one. For a 2000 PS1 release, I think the earlier Resident Evil games had a much better polish to them. How many of you have had your stats and achievements completely wiped? This just happened to me today, and there's currently a 12 page thread on the steam forums about it.

It's pretty discouraging to think all that progress I made is gone. If Valve is going to do achievements they need to get a system like Microsoft has. How many times have people just lost all their achievements on xbox for no apparent reason?

I'm writing this blog post without having slept a wink in the past 24 hours... for about the 5th time this semester. I'm currently sitting in discrete math, not absorbing a word of what is being said. And even if I was fully well rested I probably wouldn't know what was going on, because guess what--I sleep through the damn thing almost every other day. The class is at noon. Yeah, you read that right, 12pm, noon. Not only that, but I also have a multivariable calculus class right before that, which I've missed even more times.

Think I've got issues? Yeah, no kidding. I'm on the verge of failing both of those classes. Staying up until 5-6am or later every night is retarded, but I do it anyway. Without reason. Banned for something I did not do and in a manner of guilty until we forget why you were banned. Yup, I said it once and one thousand times, they were not stolen. My paypal account was limited 4 times during that period, and I proved to paypal with invoices and tons of other information on my supplier. Does that mean I have to prove it here to potential competition? Clearly.







Why bring this up now? Because that ban was originally a ridiculous 2 year ban to be lifted on 7-14-2011. Now 4 months have been randomly added which I'm extremely curious as to why or what kind of system is running here that randomly adds 4 months?...

I haven't had a real job since Labor Day. Ironic, isn't it? The government department I used to work in is tripping on bureaucracy every time it takes a step forward. They actually shut down the only place in the entire city that paid for its entire staff AND made a profit. Even worse than that, they still have to keep OWLs on hand to monitor these inactive facilities. SERIOUSLY. To cutback on expenses, they got rid of the MOU-03 staff (non-life saving) that generates revenue, but legally must retain the life-saving staff.

Let's make it simpler. Here's an example of a typical weekend day:
Government pays OWLs $700 a day.
Government pays MOU-03 staff $500 a day.
MOU-03 staff generates $1500 revenue that day.

Whereas Smash Bros. focused on the likes of Mario and Link, Smash Up takes the fighting to the sewers with Leo, Raph, and all of the TMNT gang. Is Smash Up a smashing success, or should it have its license to brawl revoked?

So over a week ago I finished all the stages in Bayonetta on normal mode. I've reflected on my thoughts on the game, letting them sink and whatnot, and feel I should give u guys a review of how I thought the game was.

OVERALL

Classic. That is the one word I can use to describe this game. The way each individual component comes together and perfectly compliments each other, the gameplay, the characters, the music, the graphics, everything. The game emphasizes quality in every small area creating an experience that will be hard to forget and will always be remembered fondly.

GRAPHICS

They're good. The environments are all very pretty, the enemies are all interesting, and the bosses are huge and epic.

MUSIC

Yes! Bayonetta has music! The key component that so many games these days completely forget about!...

There are words that are tossed around that describe fun / meaningful / unforgetful things and events. Amazing. Awsome. Incrediblee. I never really use these words to describe something because I don't think think many things reach their standards. Since this is cheapassgamer, the point of reference would be great deals. I myself have gotten in on some deals that have seen my game collection go from about 200 to 1500 plus games since I joined this site. Some of those deals have hit the description of amazing, but its a very rare thing. To relate it to life, in a broader sense, its just rare that something is so great that it can be described like that. This is part of my self reflection, not a statement of depression, but a statement of how great life gets when you get to that point, when you recognize you are having an amazing time, or that something completely awsome happened to you. It seems all the top entries with the most views are discussing Modern Warfare 2. For some reason, I don't think I could care less about that game, but I'm not sure why. Regardless, another new release which I think deserves some attention is New Super Mario Bros Wii.

While even the name sounds like a rehash, I can easily say that it isn't. I was replaying the DS version from 3 years ago (has it really been that long?) the past few days after I placed my order on Amazon for the new game. It's just as fun and innovative as it was when I first played it, but NSMBW manages to take that formula and make it feel original all over again.

On the DS, NSMB felt like a tribute to the original Mario Brothers. The only power-up was the fireflower, so no flying or crazy heights without a spring board or something, just a lot of jumping and goomba-stomping. Even so, with some of the additions from the 3D games, like the quick-turn jump, it felt like Mario 64 and...
