Those Hot, Summer Days of Backlog

Since it's been nearly 2 months since my last backlog update, I'd thought I'd make a bit of an Update on that front. Slowly, but surely, the backlog has been kept minimal, while not a whole lot of progress has been made. This is due to the fact that the majority of the remaining games on my backlog are long and somewhat tedious. Anyways...let's take a look at what I've completed over the past 2 months:

July - 7 items
- MadWorld (Beat the game)
- Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters (Beat the game)
- Tales of Monkey Island Chapter 1 (Beat the game)
- SBCG4AP: Episode 3 (Beat the game)
- The Secret of Monkey Island Special Edition (Beat the game) [200g]
- Tales of Vesperia [1000g]

August - 6 items
- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time Re-Shelled (Beat the game) [200g]
- New Play Control! Pikmin (Beat the game, 18 days)
- Dead Space (Beat the game)
- Shadow Complex (Beat the game) [200g]
- Tales of Monkey Island Chapter 2 (Beat the game)
- Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts [1250g]
- Metroid Prime (Beat the game)

In July I managed to beat an old PSP game, as well as not only finish one of my 2 Achievement goals, I blew right past it for a full 1000g in Tales of Vesperia. In August I continued that trend by finally getting 1250g in Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts. The last 2 months were mainly set aside for newer games that I bought, including Tales of Monkey Island Chapters 1 & 2, Metroid Prime of the Trilogy Re-Release, Dead Space, and a few downloadable titles. Overall, pretty productive, but the backlog still remains firm at a total of 9. Oh, and I actually got through Disc 2 of Lost Odyssey, so I'm halfway through that game.

In September and October, I hope to make progress on the following games:
- Metroid Prime Trilogy (Echoes and Corruption)
- Lost Odyssey (Get through Disc 3)
- Final Fantasy IV
- Final Fantasy VI
- Final Fantasy VII
- Pokemon Platinum
- Grand Theft Auto Chinatown Wars

I don't have any preset goals for the Final Fantasy games. I'm early on into IV and VII while I'm halfway done with VI. I think putting goals on them would be a bad idea for now. But I suspect I'm going to get through at least one of them. I might get through Platinum as well, but that's still a good 35-45 hours I must put into it over the next 2 months. As for Chinatown Wars, I've got to pick that one up again. Hopefully I'll beat it before the PSP version comes out.

I'm hopeful I can make progress on all of these games to get my backlog number down. It's definitely going to get a bit worse over the next few months, and until around April of next year, the stream of games doesn't look like it'll die down.

If it helps, Platinum is doable in 20 hours easily if you give yourself a few days to only give that attention. FF I suggest you take your time in, due to their quality. Echoes is difficult but the last two games in the series are easily doable if you tackle them one at a time. Good luck!

FFVII can be beat within 30 hours, but if you're going after extra stuff (Emerald and Ruby WEAPON, rare materia, etc.), tack on another 20-80.

At any rate, good luck getting through all those RPGs! I have quite a few to play myself...
