Today, I took a little shopping trip to Best Buy to spend a gift card (that they sent me for being a crappy company that doesn't honor its policies) that was burning a hole in my pocket. I go over to the video game section and start looking around. Time to make a choice. Do I get Little Big Planet or The Beatles:RB for 360? I just got the new PS3 Slim and don't have any games for it yet so LBP was my choice but since I only had one controller and me and my girlfriend wanted something that we could play together we ended up getting The Beatles:RB. I was a little apprehensive about getting it because I knew it had only 45 songs compared to 80-90 songs on other music games. But I figured that this game was going to hold it value because of the Beatles name and I could get LBP cheaper on CAG so it was a better choice.
We get home and after a couple of hours of waiting we got around to playing The Beatles:RB. So I load the game onto my hard drive because I like how it is quieter when you do that. After a couple minutes we jump into the game. We watch the opening video of them running through the various venues. Wow. Its great how colorful and how creative the intro is. We then went into story mode. We started with Twist and Shout since it was the first song on the list. Again, the graphics are amazing. After we beat that song we unlocked a couple pictures. These are nice additions that add to the value of the game. I like how each one had a little fact or story associated with it. I'm looking forward to getting more of these. So then we go onto Do You Want To Know a Secret. Again it was fun to play. Finish up the song and set the % screen. Okay, go onto next song. Oh wait, black screen. What? Nothing happening? WTF? Get up and hit the power button a couple times to get it to reset. Shit! RROD! Shit! Dammit, now I have nothing to play and The Beatles:RB was turning out to be a good game. I have to find a box to send it out in. Grrr. |

Man, that bites!
I like the 360 a lot more than I thought I would, but I'm so nervous about getting RROD. What is even worse, it seems like most of the time it happens when people just get a new game or something. It really is a great system, if Microsoft could just do a couple things it would be perfect, which is even more disappointing. Hope everything works out and that you get it back and in good condition soon! |

That sucks. I'm looking forward to getting Beatles Rock Band. Right now I only have a Wii, and am leaning toward a PS3 because of the RROD. 360 seems awesome except for these situations which I keep reading about. I am going to wait on the Beatles until I get one of the HD systems.

@1NintendoFan, IMO it seems like you hear about the RROD occurring more when a new game is involved because people are more pissed that they can't play that new game and want to vent their anger. If the RROD happened when I went to play Trials HD I wouldn't have made a blog about it.

That's a horrible story. During the final hours of my Fallout 3 playtime for every achievement, I would have probably lost my shit if I got a RROD. To have it occur then or at the beginning of a game is probably the absolute worst.

Yeah, that is probably the case. I would be pretty mad if I got RROD when I just bought a game, but I would be pretty mad even if I didn't just buy a new game
I find myself working harder to get my game solved on the 360 and all the achievements than on my other systems because I don't want to be left with a bunch of games I haven't played. But I really hate hearing these stories. Such a great system, there just seems like there would be a way to prevent all the problems, but what do I know |
