When I was in middle school I was pretty socially handicapped (I am somewhat better now, thanks for asking) so I didn't have many friends. One person really connected with me in middle school, we didn't go for that whole girly bitchfest that middle school tends to be. She was a rebel and an outcast and I was a geek and an outcast. We were very good friends but as young friendships go, she went to another school and since this was slightly before the big internet fad of facebook/myspace/instant messaging, we lost touch.

The librarian at the school I worked at posted a link to a bookstore author meet and I browsed the link and saw that there was an author going to be there by the name of Alicia Thompson. That was my friend's name so I started perusing to find out more information on her and a facebook search later I found out, sure enough, it's my old friend. Well I just had to buy the book on amazon and message her to say what a coincidence my discovery of her book was.


We're now talking back and forth on facebook and I just finished her book, Psych Major Syndrome. It's a good read more oriented towards young females since it is a bit of a romance. But I was just so excited for her, because this isn't a boom-boom publishing company, this is Disney-Hyperion publishing.

So anyways, here's a plug for her because I really did enjoy it and it caused me to laugh out loud several times because my sibling went to the college this book is based on and I know it to be really this weird.
