Killing bugs?

Every now and than a bug will crawl into my bedroom; Sometimes I just squish it but most of the time I'll try and let it free outside. Whenever I squish a bug I get a sorta guilty feeling and my mind wanders to the perspective of the bug and what it may have felt like to feel your whole body break under an immense pressure. I'm well aware that the nervous system of an insect is very different from a humans but who knows? That bug could be thinking "Oh shit" "This is not good..." I bring this up because I found this beetle crawling on my wall about 10 minutes ago; I poked it into a paper towel with the intention of letting it go outside but... It started to scuttle towards my hand and it was sorta creepy looking so I threw it into my toilet and flushed it instead. Who knows? Maybe that bug is still alive plotting it's revenge with it's family in the sewers. I'll probably end up like this guy:





Or I'll just be reincarnated as a bug when I die and be squished myself. What do you guys think? Ever feel guilty when you squish a bug?

I don't feel guilty. Survival of the fittest.

That, and most species could over-populate the world if it wasn't for unnatural deaths. Can you imagine if rabbits were never roadkill?

never feel guilty. but i do occasionally think like you, whether or not that they know something bad is going to happen.

If any bugs get too close to me then I will interpret that as an attack. I would kill the bugs and just go to sleep. Don't feel guilty. If you don't kill them then they will live with you.

I will kill those ers if temped or sense the even slightest hint of aggression (yes appearing before me counts). I've gotten bitten by mosquitoes this past weekend (nearly 20 in 2 nights) and have been literally looking for them in my room for about an hr before sleeping (and 2 night I still got attacked!).

Well, if it makes you feel better, if you invaded a bug's home, the bug could give two shits about biting you and putting you in the hospital from an adverse reaction to it's venom.
