Instead of criticizing people who post on the Internet in that fashion that I disdain, I'm going to take another avenue.
I wonder if these people who type in their unorthodox manner can type in a normal style if the need arrives? I say this because I sure can't do vice versa. It's just ingrained in my mindset that I need to use capital letters, proper punctuation, proper paragraph structure and correct spelling. I couldn't type in that unorthodox style if I even tried. Is it possible for them to type like I do and discard the "u'" and "ur" shortcuts and proof-read their takes? Also, the English language is the one that seems to be the only one that suffers from this "malady". Internationally, everybody else seems to type normally. Honestly, it must take some skill to type like that and not give a darn about what people say. Maybe, someday, it will be the norm.... Man, I hope not. ------------------------------------------------------------------------\ GSN - The Network For Gaming is having a free preview here in Canada on Bell XPress Vu. I swear, 80% of the ads seem to be geared to the geriatric crowd. Some of these commercials are the lamest things I have ever seen. A few of them have a setting of a newsroom with presenters talking about how you can get out of debt, not have to pay for car repairs or getting a loan. Others talk about how you can get prescription drugs that are not covered by Medicare for a cheap price. Of course, Flo the Progressive Insurance Babe also makes an appearance on occasion. Other ads are for those prescription drugs that seem to be churned out by the same production company. Does GSN have a senior fanbase or something? The commercials are just brutal, as they have always been. Nothing has changed. Didn't Carnie Wilson have her stomach stapled to help her lose weight? How did she gain all the weight back? Who is that sexy African-American woman with glasses who co-hosts GSN Live? Too bad I can't play those games, I'm Canadian. She is so fine. Annoying, but fine. EDIT: Wow, that's the former Debra Wilson from MAD T.V.? ------------------------------------------------------------------------ My take on the new Let's Make A Deal? I wanna be on that show. If I ever find myself in Las Vegas again, I'm going to get tickets and slap on a costume. I love the revival. It's fun to see the prizes they are giving out; I've seen laptop PCs, PS3 Slims and Nintendo Wiis among them (no Xbox 360 yet, though) as well as some great swerves in the deals. Wayne Brady is a fine choice as host. Most of all, during the Great Depression 2, I want to see what decisions people make under pressure. I know that if Wayne handed me $1000, I'm taking it without a second thought. Of course, I'd probably waste it all on the Blackjack tables and slot machines in Vegas.... The only problem is that the CBS affiliate in Boston the last few days has interrupted the show with "Breaking News". Thankfully, a Canadian entertainment channel airs it at the same time so I don't have to endure the "Breaking News" interruptions or the awful American commercials. |
