'Club Nintendo' 2009 Platinum Members Gift: Mario's Hat

In the mail last week I have received my gift from Club Nintendo for being a platinum member by the end of the 2009 Nintendo year, this gift is...Mario's hat
 The hat is big, I would call it huge, but it loosely fits on the head (no depth) , meaning it can easy fall off if you are running  The hat is puffy enough to remind me of baby Mario rather then good old Mario ;P I am looking forward to what they have in store for 2010 =) FRONT TOP BACK    TOP BACK SIDE   Pikachu deserved the hat after the time spent with Mario @ Nintendo =)  |

I got mine today. I kind of like it, I agree though, more like Baby Mario. As of right now, I only have one gaming item on display in my house and that is my Mario DS holder, but I'm thinking this may get a spot somewhere too.
Not the best gift and I was pretty disppointed when they originally sent the e-mail, based on what they have offered in the past. But, now that I have it, I really like it. Sure, there are other things I would have liked better, but I think it is pretty cool and definitely the perfect thing to put in a collection. I tried putting it on too and it didn't work at all, it was much too large in diameter, but sat so far up on my head it would never stay on (not that I would ever wear it  ) then I laughed after I read the paper they included saying it wasn't intended for "practical" use or something like that.Anyway, it was fun to get and now I'm trying to rack up my points so I can go platinum for next year. I think I'm at 370 right now, but with Christmas around the corner I may get a few more in there (with New Super Mario Wii and Super Mario Galaxy 2 coming, that will really help) I liked the hat a lot more than I thought I would, so hopefully next year will even be better! |

I wanted the hat, but I got the calendar that was supposed to be a better gift, also ordered a DS case with my points.

Sure it is lame to what the Japanese gets, but you know and all...it is Japan, but as a gift in general I think it is a pretty good. |

On a plus side, these hats are selling for $30-$50 on eBay. I haven't decided what to do with mine yet.
I'm a bit disappointed that we as Platinum members didn't receive the calendar along with the hat. I would have expected the prize level to be compounded. |
