From an AP article on Yahoo.
Clinton faces Pakistani anger at Predator attacks
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/as_clinton
During an interview with Clinton broadcast live in Pakistan with several prominent female TV anchors, before a predominantly female audience of several hundred, one member of the audience said the Predator attacks amount to "executions without trial" for those killed.
Another asked Clinton how she would define terrorism.
"Is it the killing of people in drone attacks?" she asked. That woman then asked if Clinton considers drone attacks and bombings like the one that killed more than 100 civilians in the city of Peshawar earlier this week to both be acts of terrorism.
"No, I do not," Clinton replied.
I would respond to Mrs Clinton that rarely do those who use terrorism consider themselves terrorists. This includes America. Most of those Americans identify as terrorists, like al Qaeda, consider themselves freedom fighters. The US labeled Nelson Mandela and the ANC as terrorists in their battle against the racist white South African gov't that was their ally. Nobody with any sense considers them terrorists today. George HW Bush's CIA helped the racist regime capture Mandela. Cheney voted against a resolution to support freeing him. Ronald Reagan even said "One man's freedom fighter is another man's terrorist." This shows the relativity of the application and recognition of "terrorists" that escapes most Americans but known by their leaders. By now, I have lost most of my fellow Americans reading this because of their own tunnel vision which is so well shaped by those in power.

In summation, what the US is engaging in is terrorism. "Collateral damage" when its done upon "other" people is acceptable to Americans. But this is terrorism. Sorry to wake some up out of their stupor.

It you have an interest in your own history (most Americans don't), here is a nice history of terrorism. Killing Hope is an expertly researched book.:

I think that some terrorists absolutely know that they are terrorists. Sept. 11th, flying into buildings in planes - who is the target? There is no collateral damage, because damage and death period was their target. American military operations undertaken to kill a military target often have collateral damage. The damage is collateral in that it hurts or kills others in addition to the chosen target, not terrorism. Yes some may view the USA as terrorists, but when you talk about collateral damage, you say it all.

Oh the essays on the American Empire has the best title ever. "Freeing the world to death."

Reminds me of that shirt that says "Join the Marines, travel to exotic lands, meet exciting unusual people, and kill them."

This is all grey area to me. I agree with what you say but lots of Americans are dumb, so your idea about the American Terrorist would never really fly. A lot of people wonder why the other countries go to the tactics they do when we are there "liberating them." But what do you think the first thing we would do is if another country showed up on American soil with some guns and ammo to liberate us?

Also, people need to stop complaining about the terrorist scenes on MW2.

You completely missed the Reagan quote. It sounds like you did not read it or maybe cannot comprehend it. You think the 911 terrorists thought to themselves, "YAYYY! I'm evil and a terrorist! I can't wait to terrorize the Americans!!" Thats a simplified Disneyland perception of good/evil. The 911 guys viewed themselves as soldiers fighting a war against US imperialism. Anyone who READ bin Laden's statements can clearly comprehend that. Obviously, most people don't read news in the US, they watch TV "news" and lap it up like pigs at the trough.

With you on your points. DEFINITELY agree with you on people complaining about the MW2 terrorist scenes. For them, grow up babies. If you so against terrorism, you shouldn't support the bombing and murdering of innocent civilians, ie Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq, etc, etc, etc.
