The scariest thing i have had in a game was in Bioshock. I was following a list of the power to the people stations and i came to the one in fort frolic that is hidden. Throughout the level there are these statues covered in cement
(These are not the ones that bother me) When you go into this room where there is a bar. The power to the people station is in this closed room in a basement. In order to go in that basement you need to push this button that unlocks the basement door. (i forgot to mention this ENTIRE room is filled with the statues like everywhere seriously)When you open the door you see this long stair case at lights flashing at the bottom so you know that is the last place i wanted to go. Down in the basement there is this statue cemented into a chair. The power to the people is at the end of the room. So i activate it you know upgrade my shotgun i turn around and see that the statue in the chair is gone and there is this new statue cemented right behind be. In a split second after pointing the gun at it the statue attacks i kill it then RUN THE HELL OUT OF THERE. repete out when i come back up the stair the entire room is missing statues like there 15 that were there are gone. I get out of there and all these other statues are missing. I turn around somewhere and 5 statues are cemented behind me and attack me. The entire level is like this and it became a nightmare half the time i had my back to the wall. here is a video of this bar that its in |

That video reminded me how creepy Bioshock was. Strangely I didn't even notice the statues disappearing when I played through it. Maybe I was too jittery.
Here's my list of freakiest gaming moments I wrote a few years ago. I haven't played many scary games since then but I'd definitely add Bioshock's dentist ( ) to the list. |

i really dont care what anyone says, but bioshock is quite easily one of the sickest, most twisted, and scariest games I've ever played. It blows veterans like resident evil, silent hill, clock tower, and others right out of the water.
Just the whole plot to Bioshock is sick and twisted, and its truly a scary game. |

My first was the dogs through the windows in Resident Evil.

Bioshock had tons of freaky moments, to this day I can still remember the "singing" and talking of the spider splicer. The game overall is so sick and twisted, very out there truly great stuff!

way back i remember playing eternal darkness... and the first time it "reset" my game cube i was like WTF? I mean it wasn't scary but i didn't know about that little aspect of insanity and I was wondering if my cube or the game were broken... i wouldn't say scared but that was the most affected by a video game moment i've ever been i think.

Silent Hill overall scared the absolute crap out of me. I was still in second or third grade when I played it, and it gave me nightmares for days afterwards. I only got maybe 30 minutes into it before I had to stop out of sheer fear. To this day, it's the only game that has really scared me.
Bioshock didn't really do much for me in terms of scare factor. Part of I think is that I played it for...13 hours straight the day I got it? By that point in time, I was already a little bored with it as the tasks got pretty repetitive in my opinion, so anything that could have been scary wouldn't be as I just didn't care. |

That part was horrifying.
In terms of other terrifying games, I still can't play Half Life 2... :p Dead Space is probably the scariest game I've ever played. It was fantastic though. |
