My Deals of the Week October 26 - November 1, 2009

Hey everyone! I decided to post my blog a day early this week because I'm going to start my collection and setup blog, starting tomorrow. I decided instead of posting two in a row it would be easier to just post this today and start the other tomorrow. I know its a little early and stores will still be open for a few more hours, but I don't think I will be getting anymore this week, so I should be okay

This week was pretty slow in terms of pick ups. I've still been watching for a Gameboy Advance SP, but as of now, I've not found anything. I've been watching eBay (which has actually been a little slow with SPs as well), but all the auctions either have SPs that are really beat up, or they go way too high (sometimes both) and I checked at Gamestop and Play N Trade, but they still have the same ones in stock as before that are pretty scratched, so I will keep watching.

For this week, my only pick up was from Play N Trade. When I first started on CAG I was totally addicted to buying any game I found on clearance that I had at least a little interest in. Then, I got over that and discovered Play N Trade, now, I can't walk out of the store without buying at least one game, which isn't much better than buying all the clearance games. I've already bought 2 games I have on other systems (and were barely worth owning for one system, let alone two ) and have several games that really weren't worth getting. So now, I need to try and stop buying every time I go in. I really like the store and it has been fun looking for and buying all the games, so it isn't too bad, but I should cut back a little! But, anyway, what I did get was:

Tak The Great Juju Challenge $4.99
Scooby-Doo! Mystery Mayhem FREE

Game & Watch Gallery 2 Gameboy $4.99
Donkey Kong Gameboy $4.99

Overall, I like all the games from the time I've spent with them. I have played two Tak games before and really liked them, so when they finally had a good price on one that was complete and in good shape, I decided to get it. I thought $5 was a decent price. They were running a Buy 1 Get 1 promotion and I looked three times at all the games and really couldn't find anything else I wanted. There was another Tak game, but in bad shape, so I settled on Scooby-Doo! I loved Scooby growing up and have a game on the SNES that I really liked, so I thought I would try it. After I bought it I kept thinking I already owned it, but when I checked I didn't, so I was happy. Both Gameboy games were in decent shape and ones I've been looking to get, so when I found them, I knew I better get them before they were gone.

That's it for this week, nothing great, but I've had fun with what I did get. Hopefully next week will bring some good deals and maybe an SP

If your interested, I will start posting one blog a day, starting Monday, with my gaming setups and collections. I've been wanting to do it for a while and just finally got things close to how I want them, so when it was requested that I post my setups, I thought now would be a good time and I thought it would also be nice to do something different other than a Pickup Blog for once . I don't have anything great, but it is a start and I'm working on improving them and I'm trying to add to them, but I would consider them to still be a "work in progress"

Until next time everyone

Looking foward to tomorrows post, want to see whhat he setup looks like! Should I expect alot of pictures and jealousy?

Slow week? Youv'e got 4 more pickups then me... Now a days I only buy games when they are new releases, at the time I just don't have the kind of money to buy old games, no matter how cheapp they are.

I want to get Demon's Soul's right now, but of course I want to get Modern Warfare 2 and the God of War collection payed off so I can get them day one since I really do not want to wait for those, so i'm really chessed off that I missed Demon's Soul's, and now it's gonna have to wait sometime.
As of right now, I have 51 pictures (I have a few more to add, i.e. the new games. and may try to retake some because they turned out bad, but then again, I don't know if I can get them to turn out any better ), and as usual, I wrote way too much, so I just decided to break it up into 5 blogs. One will be posted each day starting tomorrow. I would say, no, as far as jealousy. Up until late last year, early this year, I wasn't buying but one or two games a month and was only gaming on and off. Then this year I started buying a few more and gaming more and that is when I started CAG, which is really what has made my collection grow. Right now, it is a work in progress and is definitely not anything to be jealous of, but I'm working on improving it. Even once it is improved, most people won't be jealous since most of my games don't appeal to most people anyway

I used to only buy new games, but now that I have a nice size backlog and plenty of games to play with, I tend to wait longer to play them. Since getting back into some of the older systems I've started getting more of those as well. I'd love to get some of the newer games, but CAG has taught me to be more patient, now I just buy more games for the same price as what I would be paying for a new game. Now that I've finally started to buy used games, I feel like my collection could have been improving a long time ago, but I just never bought used. Newer games, I still buy new (its just the way I am, I prefer things new) but I just wait till they drop in price, or a good promotion is going on.

I know how you feel. Sometimes I over think things (actually, I do it a lot ) and then it is too late and then I kick myself for it. I did things with buying games in the past that I'm still kicking myself for, i.e. not buying some of the other systems that came out, especially once they were dropped in price to get rid of them, never getting a GBA SP, not buying a Micro when I was looking right at it and wanted it, all of these have been years ago. Then, I have things I'm kicking myself over recently, not buying games when they were really cheap so I could think about it and stuff like that. Sometimes I look back at what I did and wonder where my head was. I try not to think about it all the time or else I would go crazy(ier )
