In this blog you will find my setup for the PS3.
Sony PS3 This is my overall setup for the PS3. My PS3 sits on the top shelf, then my TV sits below. Also here is my cable box. My controller charger is behind the bottom right door. My controllers are stored in drawer on the right, below the glass door. Some of my DVD, CD and game collections are stored in the side units. I was really excited to get the "media cabinets" when I first seen them at the furniture store. Unfortunately, I had to order this one because they didn't have it on display and they made a huge mistake when designing the cabinets. They sit back two inches or so from the overall unit and the drawers don't pull out that far, so half of the cabinet is behind the side of the unit and you can't really get to the things in the back without ruining the case or taking everything out. It was a great concept and something I was really looking forward to, but pretty depressing how they did it. A closer view of my TV with the demo of Ratchet In Clank Future: A Crack in Time My controllers. Two sixaxis controllers, one from buying the system and the other from Radio Shack on Black Friday. 8 Buzz! controllers and 2 of the wireless adapters (one set from my original Buzz! game and one from the one my friend bought for me. Gamestop offered me a buck for them and I thought it was better to keep them as backups) My PS3 remote for movies, nice to have, but probably not really needed. My final setup blog is for the PS3. I purchased the PS3 in November of 2008. I found myself wanting to buy a new system and was trying to decide between the PS3 and 360. At the time, I was also interested in purchasing a Blu-Ray player. After doing some research and looking into the options, I ultimately decided that the PS3 was the way to go. The 360 seemed like it would offer more games for me, but the lack of the Blu-Ray and notable problems made me go with the PS3. When I first set up the PS3 I was really blown away. The system is amazing, has a ton to offer and the graphics were amazing. One of the things that really was impressive to me was the ability to download demos. Having come from playing the Wii and DS I was not really used to this feature and was completely amazed with it. I only bought one game when I bought my PS3 and I actually downloaded several games (probably around ten) and played them before even opening the game I bought. So many games were in there that I was on the fence on buying and the ability to try them before I bought them was very exciting to me. I'm approaching my 1 year anniversary of having purchased the PS3 and while I still find myself amazed with the system, it is definitely my least played system of all. I have a few games I enjoy for it, but I never seem to take the time to play it. I have the same issue with the PSP and I have several games I really like for it, so I don't quite understand why I don't play the Sony systems that much. I still enjoy downloading and trying demos, but as far as actually playing games, I maybe play once a month, which is somewhat disappointing. I still like the system, but now know that the 360 was definitely the system I should have went with all along, especially considering my Blu-Ray collection is so huge now with the total number of Blu-Rays I own being.... 1 My Game Collection: Games I Plan to Get: I play my PS3 on a 54" Panasonic Viera plasma which I purchased around June of this year. I really like the Panasonic TVs and from my experience I've been pretty happy with them. I was shopping for a TV and the picture on the Panasonic's were the ones drawing my eye the most and having been pleased with my 42" I decided it would be a good choice again. For gaming and movies it looks nice, for regular TV its okay. Personally, I think that the older Panasonic has a nicer picture, but that could just be me (I also need to tweak the settings some) I think the TV and setup is part of the reason why I don't use my PS3 much. Again, with the plasma, playing the daytime can be a challenge and the way this one is setup makes it even more difficult for me than the Wii/Gamecube. My couch is sitting directly in front of the TV, but several feet away and I'm thinking I may need to sit a little closer to be able to play better. Overall, I'm happy with the TV, I just need to make some adjustments and I think it will be even better. That's it for my actual setups, up next I will start part 4 which will include some additional collections that I do not have setups for, it will be up tomorrow! Again, all suggestions for games are welcome! Thanks for reading! |

Thanks Snotrocket!
Snakelda, that's funny. I really like the furniture, it works really nice and has plenty of places to put things, I just really, really wish the media cabinets functioned better. |

Thanks Super!
I think I went through ten books at the furniture store trying to find one that was large enough because I have alarge wall and wanted to fill it as much as possible, but also had the media cabinets with as much storage as possible. I'm still trying to figure out what to put on the thing so it isn't so boring, but that has been on the back burner, I had more important things to figure out, like where to put all my games and systems |
