Yes, the title is true. The alternative band Live, is essentially dead. One of my favorite 90s bands, I was notified that about a week and a half ago, that singer Ed Kowalczyk had left Live permenantly (he is still alive though, so don't get the wrong idea from the title), while the rest of Live is on a two year hiatus. When I heard this, I wasn't at first to depressed, since I haven't listened to much of them in about a year. I then heard their 2008 live album, and quite literally almost cried when my favorite singles came on.

This is why I would like to use this blog post to mourn the loss of a great band, and can only hope that one day that "Live" one day decides to live again.

Live's most well known single, Lightning Crashes, from 1995

Live's final single, Forever, from 2008

As far as my site being updated goes, I have a newish review up, for a CD you've probably not heard of. I have also heard the new Mighty Mighty Bosstones CD, and will review that and probably something else this weekend.

Throwing Copper = easily one of my favorite albums ever. This is indeed sad news. Glad I saw them live a couple years back.

Sad day indeed.

What is really weird is just the other day someone in my office was getting rid of some CDs and she came up to me and asked if I want this...

I said hell yeah and I have not gotten around to listening to it yet but I am so loading this up right now on to my iPhone.

Oh shit, I need to hide this from my fiancee. She'll be devastated. I'm not a huge fan but hey, they get credit for enduring 21 years together.

Damn, my dad used to listen to Throwing Copper all the time back in the day. Listening to it on youtube is like deja vu. Forgot about these guys.

Man, Throwing Copper was awesome. I loved the song Dolphin's Cry, too, but after that, they almost completely faded away. Shittowne is one of my favorites by em, but I think they always had to live up to Lightning Crashes...

Dude they have not been relevant for over a decade. I didn't know they were still together.

One of my favorite bands but they haven't put out anything good since 2003. 1st 4 albums are all amazing, though.
