(Insert Title Here) has a sequel already !!!!

Are sequels to games coming to soon. These original games; Assassins Creed, released (11/13/2007), Mass Effect, released (11/20/2007), Gears of war, released (11/7/2006), to name a few all had sequels announced and out in a two year period. Even the call of duty games come out at a minimum of every years; COD2 (11/15/2005), COD3 (11/7/2006) COD4MW (11/5/2007) and MW2 (11/10/2009). Yes COD3 was not infinity ward and MW2 had about a two year gap.
Now Batman Arkam Asylum, which was released 8/25/2009 and Star wars the force unleashed, which was released 9/16/2008 and people are crying oh its too soon. But is it?
Sports games come out every year like clockwork. You also have the EA sports game series and the 2K game serries and the college game serries. Example NFL2K10, Madden NFL 10, and NCAA Football 2010. And the same goes for basket ball. Thats three sports game for one sport every year.
So why shouldn't story driven games get the same treatment? If a publisher like Bungie, Rocksteady, Bioware, Ubisoft, etc. can make a compelling story to follow, why not have a Batman, starwars, Halo, or any other every year year and a half.
Is it to soon for (insert game Title) to have a sequel? No. Not if you can provie a compelling story with new game play elements. The best example is the heated debate over Left 4 Dead. The first game was Great, game of the year worthy. The second is more of the same with some new game play elements. I will take note that L4D has no real story, but neither does a sports game. So if killing zombies is a sport bring on left 4 Dead 3 next year.
So a new batman and starwars game with by next fall i'm in. Any other great games out there with story to tell bring them on. Get me my Gears of War 3.
