SAY NO TO MONSTER CABLES
  Following my blog about my first High-Definition Television (LCD), I found out first-handed that the cables that came with my gaming consoles looked REALLY REALLY UGLY on HDTV (I was like wtf why did the PS3 looked better on my tube-TV  ).The solution? buy the proper cables of course!  See I did not know anything about cables  , I just know that I have always hated 'Monster Cables' and so I googled around. I was planning to buy Belkin's HDMI cables for $20 each at a store I found during boxing week, but a bit more googling bought me to MonoPrice.com See, MonoPrice.com is the type of shop that Cheap Ass Gamer(s) is all about!  It was my first time to the web-site, even with all the good comments and what-nots, I did not know if what the people are saying is legit or not, so what actually helped me decided was this thread. http://boardsus.playstation.com/play...e.uid=26652869 After reading that thread...the conclusion I came to is that; -MonoPrice.com makes good quality cables. -MonoPrice.com is cheap because they sell directly to people instead of retail. -HDMI cables are all the same as long as their gold-plated (prevents something bad, I forgot what  ).One thing I love about MonoPrice.com is how they explain everything in Layman terms with their 'Knowledge Base' tab on each product!  .In the end I bought -1xHDMI cable for my PS3. -1xHDMI cable for my Xbox 360. -1xComponent cable for my Wii. I am waiting for product to be in stock for -1xComponent cable for my PS2. When the cables arrive, I will post a blog full of pictures and my impression for you guys at C.A.G!  - MiNuN |

Of course. AV cables look like crap on a HDTV. I was lucky enough to have composite on everything before,but even after I got my HDTV I got a hdmi cable for the ps3. My old 360 didn't have a hdmi port.

You should also go there if you need a wall mount for you TV. Ive bought a couple from monoprice and they were all great quality.

@jman619: composite IS the RCA cable. you must be thinking of component.
I bought audio cables from monoprice, they've been good. They're just cables. I also bought the component cable for the Wii, but it still looks like crap. That's the Wii for you. I recently upgraded my sound system and man, it makes it all so much more incredible. You should look into that next. |

i used monoprice for all of my cables. i just bought a car with an AUX port for my ipod, i bought one at best buy for $15.99 then went home to see what I could get better. MP had AUX cables for $0.92, so I ordered 3 (with shipping, it came out to $4.xx)...next day, the cable went back to best buy.
3 cables for 1/3 the price...i'll take it |

of course, Monster cables are completely overrated and overpriced. anyone who still buys their cables these days are just tossing their money into a shithole.

@Jman619 : I still do not understand why AV cables look so bad on HDTV (and good on old TVs) when it support the inputs for AV cables =|
@kainzerio : I do not understand much about cables still, but things like HDTV cables does not make a difference I agree, but things like earphones etc...for better quality buy from a company that specialize or known for that right? There is a limit to Monoprice's things. Yeah, I known that the Wii will not make a difference (ever so slightly) before buying the cable, but since it was so cheap, I was like why not, it would make me feel better just to have it anyways =P @negid : ha ha ha, that is the only downfall for me right now, WAITING, I am so excited! please come soon :P @Game SDP : All of my gaming consoles are the same distance to my HDTV's inputs. The cables I bought for my PS3 and Xbox 360 is the same, the only difference is the colours and length, I wanted green for my Xbox 360 (Yes I love playing around with colours when I am given options :P) and the shortest length is 6Ft other wise I would of prefer 4ft. |

Monoprice is great! I tell any uninformed consumers I come across don't buy that "insert overpriced cable selling company name here" go to monoprice.com for pretty much any cable you need. I have bought multiple HDMI and a ethernet cable from them no problems at all and excellent prices!
