I have no ideas and I want to make it for my fiance before she gets home for work so nothing too complicated. Lets face it I am a man and not all that good at cooking so I would like something fairly simple. Any ideas CAGS, I could use the help.

Oven roasted Fingerling potatoes
Pan-fried salmon in butter sauce (or just butter)
Vegetables
Rice?

Dessert: Ice cream
anything chicken related is going to be easy.
put roofies in it then the fun begins
Steak or chicken, some vegatables maybe steamed or sauted.

First off, being a man has nothing to do with the ability (or inability) to cook. Can you follow directions? Then you can cook.

I assume that it's too late for today, but for the future, I suggest purchasing the Betty Crocker Cookbook Everything You Need to Know to Cook Today. It's the first cookbook I got when I moved on my own. It has all the basic techniques for cooking the staple foods as well has it has several more 'advanced feeling' dishes that turn out to be quite simple to prepare.

For future reference, you cant go wrong with spaghetti (quick) or ratatouille (slow stew), unless of course your lady hates tomatoes.

Oh and pet peeve moment, when talking about a man it's fiance, for a woman, fiancee (note the extra 'e').

Just look around the web for recipes. Check what you have for the main ingredient (Usually would be meat) and search for recipes for that ingredient.

Something simple would be, Baked Chicken. Just throw some chicken breasts on a sheet and put them in the oven at 325-350 and then let them cook for awhile. Check them, and if they are not pink, take them out and you're done.

Just be creative and have fun.

Chicken is almost always an easy jumping-off point. You can combine it with tons of stuff pretty easily. Penne pasta is another good staple in my opinion. Prep it like spaghetti, throw some vegetables like bell peppers or some meat like chicken or shrimp on it, and you've made a fairly nice meal. Rice is another good starting point too.

Like droenixjpn said, search for recipes starting with an ingredient you have. I often visit allrecipes.com and just look for recipes that utilize what I have in my cupboard and refrigerator.

I'll also give you a few ideas that are simple to make just in case you need help in the future:
-Migas, which are basically scrambled eggs with vegetables
-Lemon chicken w/ spaghetti and diced up tomatoes
-Tortilla, or any kind, soup
-Pizza/calzones
-Enchiladas
-Tacos
-Lasagna
-Stuffed bell pepper

Sorry that I'm probably too late to be of help this time. Hopefully something I said will help you out down the line though.

My simple meal plan ANYONE can follow.

Get one of those Pyrex glass casserole dishes (prolly used to seeing it filled with lasagna). Season 2-3 chicken breasts with whatever (I usually do oregano, garlic pepper/herb, and I'll putt cayenne pepper or old bay on one for me). Throw chopped veggies around (not covering) the remainder of the Pyrex (onions/mushrooms/peppers). Add some olive oil (drizzle on veggies, pour around chicken). Bake for like 30-40 minutes at like 375-400 degrees.

I agree w/ hostyl1 if you can read & follow directions you can cook. & screw a meal in a box look up recipes on Foodnetwork or Cooks.com.
take 3 chicken breast, slice them into small pieces
In a sautee pan, heat some butter and olice oil over a medium high flame.
after the oil/butter heats (but before the butter burns) place the chicken in flour, shake off the flour a lil and cook, don't forget to add salt and pepper. (Also place fries in the oven if you want fries wtih this)
Also, in another pan begin sauteeing some onions in butter (a lil salt too).

Now after the chicken is cooked and the onions are done pull off and put the onions to the side for later. In the chicken pan put in some bbq sauce (i suggest open pit (regular flavor) in. a lil salt, pepper, 2 shakes of red hot, 3 fingers of brown sugar, a few worthwhile streaks of honey and cook it out till the bbq becomes clingy and the bbq sauce changes color to a deeper color.
On some kind of bread (bun, kaiser or onion roll or whatever) place lettuce, tomato, and the sauteed onions and get ready to place some cheese (I suggest a medley of chesses) as you seperate the chicken into however many sandwiches you will be making and place the cheese over the top to melt and then with the spatchula life the chicken out and on the bun and enjoy.... mmmmm made them last night, it was easy (and only took me like 30 minutes to do everything all at the same time. I love cooking at 4 am!
