Too Human + Vesuvius

Lost in the E3 conference was that the Too Human demo was released today.

I was uber excited for this game, and it was one of the games I was most looking forward to on the Xbox 360 this year. I was a big Diablo II fan (still am) and this game reminded me of it with it's skill trees and loot.

So I was excited to see the demo released and test it out. First off, this isn't the best demo. There's a lot of running around, cut scenes, and not enough hacking and slashing. I was just want to get right in and start killing things, and test out the gameplay.

And once I did, man was I disappointed. If you haven't heard, Too Human uses a abnormal control scheme in which you use the right analog stick to attack, and the direction you point in is the direction you attack. However, I do not feel this works that well. It's hard to control the character and I ended up doing things I didn't intend to, like not going in the direction I wanted to. It turned me off the game so much that that I didn't want to play it.

Now, I know this is just a demo, and I shouldn't review a game based on that, but so far, I tend to agree with all the negative previews that it's been getting so far. And I know there is a lot more going for the game in terms of loot, and skill tree system, and multiple character classes, and 2 player co-op. But if the combat isn't fun, it makes obtaining new loot and skill trees boring, and kind of negates those positives.

And, I recently got Rock Band, and started to play it, and was pleasantly surprised to see a new free song up today. It's called Promised Land, by Vesuvius. Who is Vesuvius? A Fictional band from Rainn Wilson (Dwight from The Office) new movie called The Rocker, which comes out August 1st. It's a really fun song to play, and it's actually a decent song as well. This is definitely a movie I will be seeing when it is released.
