In an earlier blog, I posted that I had won tickets to go see The Dark Knight early showing on the Tuesday before release.

So I ended up driving 3 hours to the my nearest IMAX theater to catch the early viewing in Grand Rapids.

When I got there, lots of people were dressed up and the theater actually had 2 actors dress like Batman and the Joker to tell stories before the movie.

I don't want to spoil anything for anyone so I won't bother posting information about the movie other than the fact that I will go see this movie in theaters multiple more times.

It was easily the movie of the year (over Wall-E and Iron Man) without a doubt. The acting was superb and the storyline was flawless.

Heath Ledger's performance as the Joker will win him an Oscar for best Villain and not because he passed away suddenly but because of his ability to capture the perfect essence of the character.

I give The Dark Knight 5 out of 5 stars, my highest recommendation ever, an automatic Blu-Ray buy, multiple theater viewings and my vote for movie of the year.
