A). That's the webpage screwed up, that can happen on any OS.
B). You're using Internet Explorer. Get Chrome. |

ROFL, wow just wow.
I'm not going to say anything besides install Firefox or Chrome and stop using IE. |

Well, I usually just use Firefox.. that's what comes with Linux Mint. I only logged into Windows because I wanted to upgrade the OS on my BlackBerry. :]

Firefox is crap too. It used to be good but now it is slower and "buggier" than even IE. Chrome all the way.
And yeah, to think that has anything to do with Windows 7... yeah. |

Windows 7 is fine. I haven't had a problem yet.
Your problem is that you are using IE 8, seriously that and get FireFox at least. |

LOL @ all the "it's your own fault for using the default browser" comments.
Why should I have to waste disk space on another browser? Linux Mint comes with a good browser right out the box (no box included). |

Waste Disk Space? What year are you living in? 1992? We have 1TB drives now going for sub $100 for a good one. Waste disk space??? I am very sure you will still be able to DL your porn/pirated movies/music and have plenty of space for them by installing a 56MB browser that works well.
I have been saying this since 2002 and I will say it here again: "Windows only sucks when you don't know how to use it" Linux is ok. I just found it tedious to have to look for drivers for some of my peripherals. I find Linux to be good if you're a coder and like doing your own stuff , given you have the appropriate know how. |

1) IE is awful. Why are you blaming the OS for a specific application.
2) What are your computer's stats? How much ram do you have? What kind of video card? I'm going to guess it is less than the recommended. Turn off *all* of the graphical enhancements and use the generic, ugly theme. |

I have a Core 2 Duo with 2 gigs of RAM and a 150gb HD with 3 partitions... one Windows NTFS.. one Linux EXT4.. and one Linux swap.
And E*Master: you're missing the point. I want my Windows partition to be as small as possible.. so I have more room for an OS that works. One where I don't need to install drivers since all the hardware works out the box already. An OS where all the codecs are pre-installed and I don't have to go browsing through a bunch of bullshit pages to find a Flash installer or xviD installer. I've used Windows for many years... I've simply found a better way. If you haven't tried Linux Mint, don't talk shit about Linux. And if you have tried it.. you've probably switched over by now. |

It sounds like you gave up on Windows 7 before you even installed it.

My Windows Machines were built by me and the OS' I had on them have run smooth since 2000. I've been using Windows since 3.11 (with Workgroups. I will agree that all versions of Windows have sucked before XP sp2. After SP2 however I've not had no issues with the OS unless it was my fault or lack of research. Windows 2000 SP4 was not bad either.
Ok PhrostByte, Now 150gb of HD space is considered very very very crappy in this day and age. I mean, you could upgrade to AT LEAST a 500gb drive. What do those cost now? 40 bucks? I really recommend that you upgrade ur HD. Second of all... and this is the magic question... DID YOU PAY for your Windows 7 Copy, in other words, IS IT LEGIT? That could be your other problem. Cause if it is not Legit, which is what I am assuming here ( I could be wrong) then that is exactly why it's messing up. I simply do not understand what is the big deal with blowing 90 bucks on a 1TB drive with awesome seek time. If ur on a budget, that's different. I can't use Linux as all my Audio production peripherals and software do not work on it. Software I have legitimately paid for. Along with my Video editing software, which is again, legit. I got sick of pirated software when I started to notice it was ing up my PCs and after going fully legit, I started to notice that EVERYTHING WORKS THEY WAY IT SHOULD. My Windows 7 Pro 64-bit installation has been nothing short of a complete success. Audacity actually is stable which it never was on XP for me (which is important for podcast editing as I don't know any other software with the same ease of use to do multi layer audio editing on the fly with). I never bashed Linux either. Linux has it's own crowd. Every tried the Mac os?? Stable, but I feel like Apple calls me a Moron by making it complicated for me to do the simplest things. Like it says "No! Ur too stupid to change ur wallpaper so u can't!". That was my experience with OS X (first version) a few years back. Snow leopard made it a lot easier yet I still feel like I am being treated like a moron by the OS. Again, that's not everyone's bag. But as you can see here, everyone has had a good experience with the OS. I've also not had a Blue screen of death for no reason since 2003. The last one I got was because my Video card bit the dust, again, not the OS' fault. |

150 is enough for me. Yes, my Windows 7 installation is legit.. I paid $40 for it through the student program. Paying for software in Linux? Sounds like a foreign concept to me.
Also, you realize Audacity is cross-platform (for Linux also). |
