Go watch Nintendo's E3 2010 press conference. If you are a fan of retro Nintendo games, then nearly every Wii game you see will justify the purchase of one.
However, if you aren't interested in what's shown in the conference, then just stick with your PS3 and 360. |

It all boils down to whether or not the Wii has games that interest you. As RchrdJ said, there were a lot of great announcements at E3 and if those interest you, I feel it is enough reason to get the system. There is a lot of shovelware on the Wii, it is the biggest problem of the system, but if you dig enough, you can find some amazing games. If you were to only buy games from Nintendo, you have Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2, New Super Mario Bros Wii, Mario Kart, Wii Sports Resort, etc. they are all fantastic games and in my opinion, worth owning the system for. To be honest, there are enough great games from Nintendo alone that I would keep my Wii even if no other developers had decent games being released.
The Wii isn't going to be as powerfull as the 360 and PS3, it doesn't have all the extra bells and whistles, it doesn't have the best graphics, etc. but what it does have is some really great games. If there are some that interest you, then the system is definitely worth it... Now that the price is $200 and you also get Wii Sports Resort, it is a fantastic deal... However, if you can't find many games that interest you, then I would just skip it. It is a great system, but certainly not for everyone. |

If you have kids/wife/girlfriend or other non gamers that you are close to that you want to get into casual gaming, then I think its worth it. Otherwise, skip it. The only time I play mine is with my wife, niece, and son. The only time my brother plays his is with is daughter and the only time my best friend plays his is with girls. We all play our Xbox/PS3's much more.

No. You will get it, enjoy it for a month or two and never touch it again.

It's a personal opinion.
Is there enough reason to justify a 360? Or a PS3? Is there enough reason to justify BOTH even though their game libraries have significant overlap? Obviously the answer to all of those questions will vary based on the person. In my opinion, a Wii is totally justified because there are a ton of great exclusive games on the system, and many are available for under $20. Add in the (more expensive) first party gems from Nintendo and it's easy to amass a library of 20+ exclusive games... considering the cost, it's hard to argue against that gaming value. Just for fun, let's see how far you get with about $500. That's a number I've drawn completely out of the air... but seems like a reasonable amount for an entertainment purchase if the return is reasonable. Wii console (w/Wii Sports, Wii Sports Resort) -- $200 Extra remote (w/Wii Play... why not?) -- $40 Extra nunchuck attachment -- $20 Red Steel 2 (w/extra Wii Motion Plus) -- $40 Boom Blox Bash Party -- $20 Resident Evil 4 -- $10 Dawn of Discovery -- $20 Dead Space Extraction -- $30 House of the Dead: Overkill -- $10 Little King's Story -- $20 MadWorld -- $10 Metroid Prime Trilogy -- $50 No More Heroes -- $20 Zack & Wiki -- $10 Hmm... That leaves off a lot of big name titles like Tatsunoku vs Capcom, Silent Hill, Resident Evil on-rail shooters, Okami, Monster Hunter 3, Muramasa, the Raving Rabbids and Trauma Center series, and most of Nintendo's first party stuff including Super Mario Galaxy... but you've gotta start somewhere. Now if you look at that list and say "meh, nothing interesting" then a Wii probably isn't justified for you. Best of luck with your decision. |

This is kind of a funny question. Do you want a Wii? Do you have the spare money? If you are not sure, you could always wait and see what the Kinect and Move do, though I suspect they will never be as popular as the Wii.

If you liked the older resident evil games... Cursed Mountain is super cheap, actually good AND somewhat scary at times. SMG2 is a must-have, plain and simple. The remake of Pikmin (with motion control) is a lot of fun. For me it is a nice complement to my gaming PC and PS3.

Only if you are into Wii Exclusive games.
Mario anything, Metroid, Fire emblem etc. With Kinetic and Move coming, Wii "unique" sensor bar might not be so unique anymore. However, I have a Wii, and its fun, nice $200 bundle is all u need to get started. |

It depends on the gamer i assume. I like the system probably because of the virtual console side of the system. There's some great games like TVC, Mario Galaxy 2, Silent Hill, and many other great games. I like this year line up with DKC returns, NBA Jam and the new Metroid game.

Unless you just really love Nintendo first party games, not really. If you have a friend who has a Wii go spend some time with them and see what you think after a good long gaming session, not just a few minutes here and there. The only games I can say I've somewhat enjoyed on the Wii are Super Mario Galaxy, and the Raving Rabbids games, and the only reason I've played them is because my daughter. I tried Metroid and The Conduit, but I could get the feel for the motion/pointing controls no matter how much I adjusted the settings.

The Wii ended up being too gimmicky for my tastes. There are a few games here and there I'd still like to play on it, but it ended up being a $250 console that I used exclusively for A Link to the Past. I still prefer sitting down with a controller to play a game, and I'm not very interested in motion controls. I think at a certain point you're better off just going outside.

I was in the same boat; I owned a 360 and a PS3 and loved them for different reasons (mostly the games I could only get on each one), but got a Wii as well because I haven't played Mario, Zelda, or Metroid since I was a kid. I don't see myself using it as much as the others, but it has its place.

We own a Wii...as in "we" I mean my family. My dad bought it for Wii Fit however I never played it. I've always wondered about getting a game or something but I'm not big on motion controls. I know not all games use them but not enough don't.

I put 40+ hours into Super Swing Golf Season 2 alone. I like the list that ejamer put together. But if you're the type of person that thinks there is enough exclusives to justify owning both a 360 and a PS3, I would *think* you could find value in the Wii-exclusive games.
Unless you absolutely detest motion control or are an uber-graphics whore, I say why not? At worst, you could buy it used, play the games you think look interesting, then sell it away. I think you'd pretty much have to be dead inside to not get *some* fun out of it. |

I really enjoyed SMG 1 & 2, if you're into platformers then that is the best one you can get.
