Off to the hospital |

Well my daughter has had a essentially constant fever since Thursday or late Wednesday. Thursday day and night she was admitted to the hospital for dehydration and a high fever, got to 104.4 at one point. She was discharged today and her fever went up for 103.4 again, I'm at the point where I am unsure of what to do, I hope it starts to get better, all of this started over a double ear infection. It sickened me to watch them give her an IV and work on her and she is only a little over 10 months old, being helpless is a horrible feeling I was not custom to just yet. To anyone who has had a sick child or currently has one I feel your pain. She fell asleep next to me, gave me a moment to get a drink and check my e-mail, hopefully they next blog will find me with a happy and healthy daughter. This hospital visit though did delay the mother-in-law from arriving, I suppose this is the only good news I have had the past two days.

she might have to have tubes put in her ears a little girl at my moms daycare had that done, so she wouldn't have any more ear infections or fevers like yours might want to check into that.

I'm not married yet, but I can't imagine what you're going through. I'll certainly pray for you and your daughter.

Think we got her fever to break after it seemed to be steady at 102/103 so hopefully we can avoid another trip to the hospital.

I'm sure she'll be fine Jason. I have a six year old daugther and one thing I've learned is that kids are more durable then we give them credit for!

It's a roller-coaster her doctor who is now on vacation has been on and off the phone with my wife and I all day. Her fever that broke earlier is now back to a steady and consistent 102 and she has a small circular rash on her arm. I am hoping it is just a side effect of the fever but I want this over. I have to go to work tomorrow, can't afford to miss more work but don't want to leave her either even though she is with her mother.

Good luck bud. My son is 18 months old now, and he had a similar fever about 4 months ago. Never hit 104, so not quite as serious, but he stayed between 102 and 103 for 4 days!
In the end, the doctor just kept saying that his body was fighting and he ended up coming out just fine... If you call climbing all over me so that gaming is impossible fine. |

tenchi is right, kids are more durable than most adults, wish you and ur family the best, keep us updated
i know that same feeling when u want to help your baby and u cant, it made me feel like i wasnt doing enough, it made me feeling like i wasnt protecting my child, my son had a bad stomach flu when he was 14 months, and he got tubes, needles, iv's, oxygen, etc etc, the only thing that made me feel better, was the fact that he was in the best place possible for him, he was resting and sleeping (not crying and screaming), keep your head up, and make ur daughter laugh and smile it sucks when u feel helpless, but thats what hospitals are for |

She seems completely better even though she is still running a 101.+ fever that seems constant but she acts like a new baby so hopefully I can finally say the worst is over. Thanks for everyone's thoughts and prayers, appreciate it.
