The Boatcrash Chronicles # 35

Due to the odd format, I had to chop this strip in half to get it under the 97kb file size limit. Doing so, I had to eliminate my name from the strip to balance the title bar. My ego may never forgive me.

I had this strip drawn and ready to go last weekend, but I needed to go see the Scott Pilgrim movie so I could more accurately write Lady Boatcrash's babbling/dialogue.
As for what I thought about the movie...

I loved it.
I am not a Michael Cera fan, and still think they could have gone with an unknown actor to play the title role. If they had, it probably could have been more successful, since Cera has his detractors working against the movie. Still, he did pull off most scenes well, most impressively during the fight scenes.
In whole, I think the marketing department really dropped the ball. This kind of movie needed a dual marketing approach. I only ever saw one type of ad, going for the male video-game audience. Ultimately, however, this is actually a romantic comedy. And had they been as heavy pushing that aspect of it (toning down the quirky video game aspect) on channels like Lifetime that J-Lo movies get so heavily promoted, I really think this cuold have been a lot more successful. It's a very fun movie and works for most audiences.

Loved this one!!! I also like that you did some research for this strip! The size of the DSi XL, soda and gummy bears definitely made me chuckle.

Great job!!!!
