I’m going to be visiting Japan soon for about 5-7 days, I'll be in a hotel in Tokyo, what are some good touristy attractions to see? (Apart from Akihabra/Disneyland/DisneySea), any tips/dos/don’ts I might need to know? Can I get around mainly using the trains/taxis? Any input is appreciated

Oh and any restaurants I absolutely have to eat at?

You should ask to spend the night at Cheapy's house.

You don't need to take cabs. The train system is very easy to follow. Just remember there are multiple exit at each train station stop. Get a JR card

Odaiba is pretty cool if you have time. It's mildly close to Disneysea. Ginza is great if you have the money. Avoid taxis if possible and take the metro or JR line. The metro and JR lines close down at midnight though so don't be caught out too late too far from home. Or you can be like the asians and stay out until 6 am when they start running again.

When I was in Tokyo, I mostly took the subway/train. My friend helped me get a Suica card. I think it was about 2000 yen for the card and we can load the card as we go. We deposited about 5000 yen for a whole week. We can get our money back for unused fare if we exchange them at some convenient store. For the tourist, I heard you can get a week pass to the JR line. I think it was about $200-ish. I never took the taxi when I was in Japan. The subway is easy to use. Just download the map before you go so you may be more familiar how it works.

I heard a rumor that Cheapy enjoys creepy stalkers because he believes that they show true dedication to the site.
There have been reports of him handing out free games and even systems to those that get "too close".
Give it a shot! What's the worst that can happen?
