![]() Wow, just wow. Verizon you just really disappointed me this year. First you don't do shit about a phone that craps out 1 month after the warranty expires and only want to sell me the same phone for twice the amount I paid for, dispite the fact that I have been reporting problems with my phone even before the 1 year...so you leave me with a Env Touch with a dead touch screen until feb 2011. :( Now you pull this shit on me with your fios. So I called today to cancel my free hbo/cinemax package that ends today. Asked if there are any other packages going on or trials for Epix...there was nothing.. So I pretty much said to keep our current set up. 15/25 internet, Fios extreme HD package, no phone, Showtime/Stars/movie channel package. The lady said that she will have the hbo/cinemax taken off by close of business today. Great...all done right? *sigh* NOPE Checked my email around 8:30pm.. guess what? Got an email saying "Thank you for your recent order..." uh..huh?!??!? Check that email. They jacked up my internet speeds, added a land line and added MORE movie channels. In no way during my conversation did she say by removing HBO/Cinemax that it was forcing me to upgrade my speeds. Called Verizon and spoke to this ing airhead that was pissing me off left and right. She told me there was no way to downgrade me to what I had before. She then said she will try to give me credit so I won't have to pay that much more..... wait what? I'm not paying for anything I did NOT ORDER! I asked to talked to her supervisor...she then ing puts me on hold for 15 mins then disconnects.I called back...guess what? They are closed... Tried other numbers and finally got thru to tech support which routed me to an after hours customer care support. Got a hold of them...explained the situation. Told the guy what happened. The guy for whatever reason decided that "I Needed" the higher speed for the extra channels...I said I understand but told him it makes NO SENSE for someone raise my internet speed, add a land line, and a shit load of movie packages just to remove HBO/Cinemax. I had him explain the logic behind that action, and he couldn't. I could totally understand if I wanted to add more channels, but it wasn't the case as I was removing channels. He then offered Showtime package free for 3 months.........uh...NO (not right now anyways). All I wanted him to do is fix the issue. He couldn't as his system wouldn't let him. He did however opened up a complaint ticket regarding a CSR slamming/cramming a customer and gave me the name and badge number of the person who did this. I was told that I would be getting a call within 48 hrs of the ticket by the response team who would investigate and resolve this issue. That was really not cool with them because they renewed my contract for another 2 years even though I didn't authorized the additions to my account. Anyone experienced this type of shit before? |

15/25 isn't standard any more. They got 15/15 and 25/25 IIRC, maybe that's an option they had for early FiOS peoples. I have the full package from them and have had no issues other than somehow disconnecting oddly from the internet that they had to reset.
Hopefully you'll get it all sorted. I haven't had any bad customer service from them with the exception of my installer not cleaning up his wires that he left outside but that's just a personal view on his work ethic rather than their fault. If you fail the first time, keep trying until you get somebody that will work with you, I found that if I can get a male rep they're usually more reasonable than a female rep if it was a female that screwed the pooch to begin with. |

I haven't had an issue. Actually I believe its 100% better then dealing with Comcast.
I can guess how this is going to end: The new standard is 15/15 or 25/25 since you changed your package they will have to change that since my guess once its removed its gone forever. Now they will still make it right in some way instead of Comcast where they would say take it in the ass and turn around and smile after. |

Charter does that same shit however some times when you call to cancel stuff they tell you that you were in some sort of package deal so it will go up. They then offer some other BS that has more of one thing and less of another for what you were paying or less. They never tell you that it locks you into it for 2 years. I tried to cancel some stuff once due to not watching it and they said I was locked in for 2 years. After the 2 years were up I tried again and they said I still had another year then another 6 months.
Took me telling them I would go for legal action against them for them to stop the bull shit with me. |

Oh trust me Sendme... I am prepared to threaten to take legal action. I am preparing the letters to Verizon directly and to Consumerist.

Hey guess what? I'm getting fios next week! :p Now I'm scared :'( . From what I understand after speaking to a few reps to setup my service. There's a lot of shady people at Verizon fios that will just pack on extra shit unless your clear with what you want and ask them to clarify after. I'm tempted to get a tape recorder just for Verizon....
As far as your package goes, if you have HBO as part of your deal and you take it off, instead of just adjusting your price for no HBO everything goes up to a non promotion price aka regular price. My guess is that after seeing your prices were going up, she decided to lock you into another package for the same price. If these people get rewarded for adding services then I'm sure that's what happened..... My package includes showtime and I only need it for Dexter/Weeds so after they're off again it's worthless to me. I have no contract though so if they with me I'm out.Besides all the bull shit with billing. How is the service? You like? Is the cable really that awesome? I really only need the internet but it was a little more for the other things so I bit. I'm coming from optimum btw, I love them but the area I'm in has some shitty internet service in terms of stability. |

USB Cable
During the first month or so you will see amazing picture quality...after that you start noticing problems...like pixelation and so on some channels. Your "WOWED" for 30 days, then your trapped for 2 years :| |

I pray that's not the case for my area...... -_- Luckily I'm joining when they have contract-less offers so if anything is wonky with them I'll just go back to Optimum. I was promised a lot in terms of my package deal so lets see what happens on my first bill..... After seeing almost every complaint on the net being about billing, I must say I'm nervous....
