Halo Reach glitch

I have not heard much about this from the gaming outlets or a quick browse of the Bungie forums and I thought I would reach (pun intended) out to the CAG community and see if this has happened to anyone else. While playing the campaign I received an achievement that I wanted to learn more about so I hit the guide button. I went on to complete the mission and saved and quit my game. The next time I loaded up the game I was asked to setup my Spartan and given 5000 credits as if I were starting the campaign for the first time. I immediately froze thinking that my progress was gone and that I would have to start from scratch. The strange thing was that my multiplayer progression and armor pieces I had unlocked were still there. I went to the missions select screen and was only shown the first mission. I then went back and chose Resume Campaign and the game started up right where I left off the night before. I quit my game and went to the Internet in search of answers. I only found one post on some site which mentioned that the glitch would happen if you got an achievement in the campaign and hit the guide button to view it (which I had done). I have continued on the campaign and noticed that now on the mission select screen I can see all the missions, but missions 2-5 are locked as if I have not completed them. I don't mind going back and playing them again, but I am curious if once I finish the game if I will receive the achievements for completing the campaign.
So, has anyone else experienced this glitch? |

Maybe not this specific glitch, but i finished the campaign this weekend and didn't get the final 25P achievement for finishing the game. I went back and looked and saw that it didn't think I finished VII, even though I did. So I replayed it and got both VII and the final "you finished" achievement. Kind of weird.

I seen wombat said something on twitter about missing halo campaign achievements. He didn't specify what they were but he later posted that it was solved. Maybe ask him about this.

Yeah, I had that happen to me. I had my person "reset," but I was still the same rank and had access to all my armory stuff. It also locked all the campaign missions again and reset all my controller configs as well. This happened to me after I finished the campaign, however, so I don't know what the ramifications will be in terms of achievements.

My friend at work talks about this game all of the time. He was played through it a few times already and plays the online constantly. He said for a while he would keep falling through the map and would have to restart. I guess when a game is just this big, it is bound to be filled with bugs.

A similar thing happened to me. When I was on level 3 I got to a checkpoint and just quit. I thought my progress would be saved at the checkpoint, but it wasn't. Next time I started the game it acted like it was the first time I had played the campaign (start campaign rather than resume campaign).
Then when I went to select mission the other two missions were complete, but no progress was saved to where I was in the third mission (right at the end and on legendary). I had to do the third mission over again, and now I make extra sure I go into the start menu and save and exit. |

Knock on wood, I have not experience any glitches and I also hit the guide button to look at what achievement I unlocked.
