Is this really that rare?

I was looking through my old games collection when i came across this game
 after doing some online resaerch apparently it sells for 40 plus dollars on ebay used (great because i got it for free  )is this game rare the only way to get it is to have pre-ordered the terrible game know as Pokemon Colosseum is it rare or just expensive or both I would like other peoples opinions thank you in advanced |

Lemme take a stab at this. My Pokemon knowledge has been rusty for the past few years, but this is my take (prone to being wrong, though.)
The disc is one of the few legit ways to get a Jirachi, and very hardcore pokemon fans care that the pokemon that they get in trades and use in battle aren't hacked. Outside of a wi-fi event from earlier this year the disc is the only way to be 100% sure of a Jirachi's authenticity. It's also the closest you can get to farming Jirachis in order to find one with good stats for competitive purposes, as you can't breed Jirachi (like other legendary pokemon). So it's definitely a very desirable item for a small pocket of the Pokemon fandom. I don't know that the disc was particularly rare when it came out (preorder bonus for a high-selling game, after all) but I could imagine a lot of kids throwing away their disc after downloading a Jirachi to their Ruby/Sapphire cart because everything else on the disc is non-interactive garbage (trailers for pokemon movies, games, etc.) Because of this I'm guessing that it's fairly hard to come by. The price it commands seems a little silly but if you can get that much out of it, great  I have one that's been collecting dust since I preordered Colosseum back in '03, but for whatever reason I can't bring myself to sell mine. |

Ha, i remember that GC disc. I guess it's only rare to the person that buys it.

Wow... I remember I was at a Best Buy that had 10 or so of these for $.01. I bought one for myself and one for a friend. Had I known, I would've bought the lot

$10-15 on Amazon. Just because someone is selling it for a certain price doesnt mean people are BUYING it at that price.
