IGN's Crappy Top 100 ps2 Game list |

I am a ps2 game collector (About 150 Titles), I've played 100's of games like everyone else but their list is just wrong. Let me show you some of the rankings
#100 God Hand #94 Killer 7 #79 Final Fantasy 12 #78 MVP Baseball 2005 ROFL whatever the first three would at least be in my top 20 if not top 30, you don't even want to know where they put Kingdom Hearts 2. This just makes me want to make my own top 30 for the ps2. |

I'd be interested in a CAG-made Top 100 PS2 game list.
But yeah, IGN tends to be stupid when it comes to their "Top 25/50/100" lists. |

I second that Dark Zion, Later today I'll try to make a epic Poll and everyone can vote on there favorite game or submit there favorite game idk it would be tough... 7,000+ Ps2 games and all.

Thats all IGN spends time on nowadays. Top 25 horror movies is up now too.
Gets them traffic, watch out for the 100's of ads too |

I dunno what the rest of the list looks like, but it's actually called an opinion for a reason. Guess what! Not everyone likes the same games.

A bunch of IGN staff made the list but Greg Miller was the one in charge. And other than MVP Baseball going a little higher, I don't have a problem with those ratings. I hate FF XII and I haven't played the other two but that seems like a good spot for them.

It's called IGN's list for a reason. A group of people at IGN decided that the games should be in this order and that doesn't mean everyone else should agree with their opinions. Your list might be representative of your opinion but that doesn't mean everyone else should agree either. I don't understand why people always try to make such a big deal when they don't agree with one of these lists. |

Their lists don't follow any type of process, I think a vote, sales comparison or even following their own rating system would have been a better indicator instead of a couple of editors opinions, Greg Miller is a extra special idiot as well so no wonder this list was crap.
If your going to do the "Top" list at least follow something thats tangible. Thats why I think their lists are horrible especially this one. |

So far their list has been ALL OVER THE PLACE! I don't feel like they really sat down and thought this list out. And I know they will have GTA III as number 1. It was great when it came out, but not deserving of #1.

Considering the fact that there are thousands of PS2 titles, just making it to the top 100 is a feat on itself.

@celegus, I know exactly what you mean, and that's why I feel free to express my OPINIONS that the list sucks. What I don't understand is why you try to act like other people posting their opinions in a blog is strange.
Not everyone likes the same lists. Another great concept. |

^^I thought the same thing at first too.
Anyway yeah, those 4 games are way too low. First of all, MVP is easily the best overall baseball game EVER! It might not be as realistic as MLB The Show, but it's lightyears more fun. FF12 was really fun. Definitely deserving of a higher spot. I guess because it was such a dramatic change from 10, most people either liked it or hated it so... yeah. K7 and God Hand probably deserve a little better. The problem they have though are they are very one dimensional. K7 is all about the story. Strip away the story, and the gameplay doesn't hold up that well. Complete opposite with God Hand. |

It's ok not to agree with something and WTF do you care what other people think as long as you have your own opinion. How hard would it have been to create that list if they put it up to a vote? Even then, the list wouldn't have made everyone happy so it makes no sense to do so. I haven't even looked at the list and I don't care about it. I have an opinion of my own and I don't need to see a list somewhere that justifies what I am thinking. |

@dannyox718, That's cool and all, but it specifically says the list is "wrong", not "I don't agree with their choices". Even your opinion that the person should be fired for liking certain games isn't "wrong", though I certainly don't agree with it.

I love it how FF12 is 78 now but last year when IGn did a Top 25 it was 12 or 13.

Part of these lists is to generate traffic. I think the worst the list the more people are going to look at it and comment how far off base it is with their own opinions. Traffic = $$$
