I apologize to everyone for writing another blog too soon after another. This was SUPPOSE to be my Saturday blog, but I the previous blog I wrote was kind of unexpected. Since most people may not notice what goes on in the Washington, DC Metro Area Thread, I will blog about some of the events we have.
Twice a year CAG and Goozex have meet-ups at Dave & Busters. The Spring we tend to meet-up at the White Flint, MD location (in Rockville, MD), while the Fall we tend to meet-up at the Arundel Mills location (in Hanover, MD). This November 6th, 2010, at 2pm EST, we'll be having a meet-up at Arundel Mills. Anyone who goes to the event may get the chance to meet me (Mana Knight) and possibly get to watch me consume an alcoholic drink. So what happens during the meet-up? I remember White Flint location requiring you to be 21 or over to not be escorted by a guardian, while Arundel Mills is 18 (could have sworn that after the sign I saw)? It's mostly a game swap meet, with CAG and Goozex members bring in various games they might not want and try seeing who may want the games. There may be even swaps, free stuff given away, or selling games for cash. Those who have a bunch of games they would like to trade with people, it's a great place to be. Outside of game trading, many of us will have some alcoholic drink (I have yet to have one during a meet-up) and eat lunch out there. Last time I ate the Goldfingers with fries, and knowing me I'll eat them again. I sometimes play a few arcade games for a short time. The two negatives about Arundel Mills Dave & Busters is the parking lot will be crazy packed (be prepared for a VERY long walk or wait forever for someone to pull out) and its kind of hard having us all get together (White Flint has a big table they give us). However, its very close to Baltimore so those who live there will have an extremely short drive (and Arundel Mills has a lot of fun stores IMO, like there's a Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament there). I'll be letting a ton of CAGs I know in the area about this event who might miss this blog. Also, I hope more see this and learn we occasionally have Dave & Busters meet-ups. Dave & Busters hasn't been our only place to meet-up. Some of us met up at the PS Move event near DuPont Circle in DC, and some of us met up at MLG in DC. Whenever gaming or other interesting events come around, we try to meet-up. Unfortunately, I understand a bunch of CAGs would like to go, but they don't live anywhere near our meet-ups. Having Dave & Buster's or other fun place meet-ups is a good idea. You can bring people together, and who knows, maybe I'll even show up. If anyone finds the event to be some interests to them and can make the event, please RSVP to the thread, this blog, or send a PM to someone like G-Nitro, Indifference, me, etc. |

Hmm I wonder if there are many CAGs in the San Diego area... I would be interested in a congregational trading frenzy.
