A tough blog entry

First of all, it would be best if you checked out the latest news post on my site to get a few of the details.
I could go on and on with the stories and such about how we got to be at the point we are right now. Alternatively, I could direct you to read my blogs, but there are a whole lot of them, and I wouldn't subject you to that much crappy writing in one sitting. Instead, I'm just going to give a very brief recap of what's going on now, what I plan to do abut it, and hopefully, about the future. After being falsely accused of sexual harassment at my previous job and having my salary cut over 30% as "punishment", I just could no longer feel comfortable working for that employer. So, I decided to start dv8CAG. A lot of CAGs had asked me to find items for them, and I was happy to help. I thought that I could turn it into a business and, I was right! For awhile... As the U.S. dollar became weaker and weaker, understandably, business fell off as well. It eventually came to a point where I needed to start looking for a job again and to continue with the site on the side. Jobs are still few and far between worldwide as most of you know, so I have had absolutely no luck in the search. Also, my wife Ai's job is terrible pay-wise. She works around 50 hours a week just to bring home a bit over ¥100,000 a month. That may seem like a lot, but our small apartment (one of the cheapest around) is ¥60,000 a month on it's own. Add to that bills, food, diapers and anything else that gets thrown in such as ridiculous amounts of back taxes and such, and you can imagine the hole we are in. The restriction on shipping to the U.S. is the final straw. It's the thing that really destroyed what I had going. Still, dv8CAG will be back once they lift the restrictions, but, as of now, there is no planned end date. As of this moment, I have the following happening: 27th CC bill due - ¥18,000 30th rent due - ¥60,000 30th Ryu's 2nd birthday - ¥? We have just enough money to buy food through the rest of the month, and that is absolutely it. Ai will get her next check on the 15th of next month, and I currently have next to nothing coming in. Let's just say we are down ¥80,000 this month, and will owe approximately ¥210,000 next month after all bills come through once more. So, about 1/3 of the total will be covered by her check. That is, unless we fail to make rent this month which would result in an additional ¥7200 fee... Of course, we would then fail to make it again the next month and incur yet another fee. What I need to do is clear out everything I possibly can ASAP. Frankly, I can't afford a lowball because I typically lose about 25% of what is sold due to shipping. Right now though, of course shipping is an issue as well. Here is my plan. I hope that I have enough feedback and a fair enough reputation to make people feel comfortable with this... I am going to be selling off pretty much anything and everything that I can and taking payment for the items at that time. If you are in Canada or the UK, I will get a shipping total to you ASAP. (All boxes will be actual shipping via the method of your choice) If you are in the U.S. I will hold the item(s) for you until the restriction is eased and then get you a shipping total. I've pulled all inventory from the site and I will also be taking pictures of the remainder of my collection. Over the past 2 months, I have sold my U.S. 360, my U.S. PS2, my JP PS3 and my JP Dreamcast to try to save thing. Also, I have sold well over 100 games already which is what has kept us afloat since the dollar fell so hard. Now though, it's a true emergency situation so I will be fielding offers on absolutely everything. I have never asked for donations in the past, but if any of you have had good experiences with myself or with dv8CAG and you have a little to give, we would be grateful! The donation links are at the bottom of the news entry that was linked at the top of the blog. I hate to have this happen while the Child's Play drive is going, but it's not as if I chose this moment for everything to fall apart. It will take me some time to get started on the list, but it will be on my main CAG trading page linked here. All details will be made available on that page as well. Please give me half a day or so to get started on it. Items will go up here and there as I am able to get pictures taken. If you know anyone that may be even remotely interested once it is up and running, please let them know about it. Even if they are not already a CAG, that's cool, get them to register for an account. As you all know, it's very simple and it's a really good thing to be a part of anyway! |

If it wasn't for you telling me about this site on x360a I wouldn't have saved quite a bit of money, I can't access dv8CAG from here (or x360a for that matter), so kick me the donation links.

I think dv8mad should work at a host club. :P
I think CAGs should outbid you on some of the lowball you bidded on to reduce your debt. Wow, you have so many financial problems. |

I think I found your answer. You should become a photographer. You could take pictures of sushi, school girls, and other stuff. I think that shouldn't be that hard.

Hang in there! I wish I could help right now, but I really am 100% broke currently. We just made a large frivolous purchase (new TV) that required much shuffling of bank accounts just to manage. Dumb excuse, I know.

I am sorry for your situation. Is there any Halo or Gears of War items that are easily accessible by you (not the games themselves)?

Tsu - a bunch of stuff will start going up for offers later tonight (my tonight).
Amblix - Thanks! Looking forward to a $1000 donation from a big baller like yourself! hero101 - The outbidding would be nice. The host club, not so much. I hear you have to end up drinking and smoking a lot and I do neither. I am looking into part time and such now. Originally though, I applied to full time places so Ai could be part time. Spyder - Believe it or not, I did ask if there was anything but, as you can imagine, CAG can mostly just go on cruise control as it isn't very hands on. I suppose once the infrastructure is in place, the job is done. Unless Cheapy needs a manservant... kube - ty Vegan - Not a bad excuse at all. What's mine? I depended on a website and just hoped things would improve? That's a bad excuse. Haggar - Hard to say, but honestly, I'm not even leaving the house anymore right now as I don't want to have to pay train fees unnecessarily. It costs me about $12 to get to my regular shopping area and back, and $12 is a nice chunk of change just now. So, I won't be searching for any items that I don't currently have. |

Man I feel really bad for you and I understand the desperation of it all. I have two children and a year ago I lost my job, I sold everything I could to make sure the kids got everything they needed and had a place to live. I literally just took all the money out of my PayPal account this morning or I would donate some right now. I really feel for you and I hope everything works out. I'm going to try to figure something out to get you some money or something. Can you get stuff sent to you from the US? If you can I think we still have some of my sons old clothes and toys if you'd be interested in them. If you are just send me a PM. Good luck and I am sure you will find lots of help on here.

Damn. Sorry to hear. Your site isn't loading for me at the moment. You never wound up getting those Berserk figures right? If you have them on hand we can work something out. If not, I guess I'll have to see what else you've got.

Ouch... not cool. Best of luck for you and the family getting through all this. I can't imagine how frustrating this is, when you're all trying your hardest and just can't seem to catch a break.

Best of Luck my friend, seems every time you catch a break something brings you back down. Keep your head up and remember the smile of your son and your wife to keep you going.
