After typing in what you are looking for, you can filter your results by clicking on one of the tabs that pops up from the top of the search bar.

It's not CAG that has changed since I joined, it's me. I was going over my feedback that I have from various trades and deals over the last five years and I noticed a trend from the beginning up until maybe a year or two ago.

Many of the feedback said I am a 'nice guy' and that just doesn't seem to mesh with the opinion I'm sure more than a few of you now have about me. Sure I keep in constant contact throughout a deal and make sure everyone is still happy with their deal, but it's been more about getting back at least what I spent for the item(s) and not so much trying to help people.

I tend to put 'eBay value' above making a deal and getting items that others possibly can't find into their hands and I seem to think that everybody who I'm dealing with is going to be some reseller who I helped out by getting them inventory so they didn't have to expend their gas to do so.

Save for my hoarding of the copies of Uncharted from TRU recently every time I've grabbed a ton of the same item in recent years it's been for flipping purposes or to resell and try to make a few bucks on.

So now I find myself at a crossroads. Do I try and go back to where I help folks out and hope for the same consideration in return or do I continue down this path and go 3 months between deals like has been happening as of late?

I haven't dealt with you yet, as I've slowed down dramatically because of lack of funds and not much to trade, but I find the trading forum is built off people helping people. There might be a few times where you don't get exactly what you're hoping for, but then, if you buy from a lowball sale, you'll usually end up getting decent enough deals. There's also times when traders don't mind making it a little more fair in the other person's favor. There's a lot of reliable and great people there, which I'm sure you know very well, but in the end, it's up to you.

If you are helping people in hopes for the same consideration in return, you are helping people for the wrong reason.

@chopper, I get what you're saying, but don't you think that sounds a bit harsh? There's nothing wrong with a little give and take if you're genuinely interested in the well being of the other. Even the Golden Rule says "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you."

CheapestGamer, keep being a nice guy, bro!

I say do what you feel is right. Everything else will take care of itself.

I dunno, but I damn well appreciated you helping me out. I used all three guides I got from you!
Honestly, just do what you do naturally. If you help people, just keep doing it. Unless you need to change for some reason, time changes you naturally. I used to help people out a lot and when it came time to me needing help, I learned quickly who was there to help and who was there to abuse. So, I dumped the excess weight, kept the good people around, and keep on doing what I do.

It seems like there are plenty of helpful people around here, but my experience with CL and a lot of people I've seen here and ebay, it seems like most are out for their own good. If you're going to help people, you should do it because you enjoy it. If you feel like people are using you, then dump them. In the meantime, there is nothing wrong with making some loot from time to time with flipping, so go for it.
