![]() Well tonight/tomorrow Battlefield Bad Company 2: Vietnam hits for PC and Tuesday for consoles! I can't stress enough to people how good a time this game is. You can buy the base game on AMAZON.COM for 30 dollars and the Vietnam expansion for 15 dollars when it hits on Tuesday the 21st AMAZON LINK:http://www.amazon.com/Battlefield-Ba...2651652&sr=8-3 If you prefer your Battlefield to be on PC you can buy the game on STEAM for 20 dollars and then then Vietnam expansion for 15 dollars which is available NOW! STEAM LINK:http://store.steampowered.com/app/24960/ WEAPON STATS & COMPARISON: http://img199.imageshack.us/img199/8...eetvietnam.png My Thoughts on BFBC2: Vietnam So far...(EDIT) -The maps are all really good, but they seem a bit small. -The Thompson SMG is actually a viable option in Vietnam; I thought it totally blew in the base game. -Flame thrower isn't too bad so far, but I think it has the potential to get ridiculous as far as spamming over use goes. -So far flame thrower is definitely NOT as bad Carl Gustav spammers in the base game. -In contrast to the weapons link above I didn't really notice one gun being better than others. -Body Armor could be a bit over powered (had a few instance where I shot a dude 5 times with my M21 and he didn't die) -You start off with everything unlocked which I think is kind of lame, but it'll be good for n00bs because they wont have to suffer with the shit weapons and lack of perks that you would otherwise deal with in the base game. -Helicopters are more susceptible to small arms and machine gun fire with the lack of tracer darts and AA guns -Machine guns mounted on the Huey are way better than the miniguns on the blackhawk -The lack of powerful mounted weapons actually make vehicles like the jeeps and boats a legitimate threat as opposed to being little more than cannon fodder or just a means to travel from A to B in the base game. -The lack of AA guns and tracer darts means a douche bag in the Huey can hang back strafing in the no-go zone for the defense and just pepper the defending team with rockets and machine gun fire; repairing midair. There was really no way to take this assclown down. I just left. -PPsh is the new PP2000, but definitely not as bad with it's oober long range sniper accuracy. Seriously though, if you haven't checked out Bad Company 2 you need to. Especially if you are looking for an alternative to Call of Duty. The different classes really do a decent job at offering varied game play experiences keeping the game fresh. DICE has done a pretty good job at supporting the game, and just to put things into perspective; you are getting a mini expansion with 5 new maps, new weapons, new voice acting, new vehicles, etc. for the same price that you can get 4 maps on Call of Duty. So make the jump to Bad Company! |

im trying to get into it, i really love the real war feel, and the destructible environments are awesome. but im having a very hard time enjoying it. but my bro keeps telling me to stick with it, and it will get better. so i will keep trying it out and see if i can get into it.
edit: oh yeah, i also really like the fact that they have offered up 7? free map packs (assuming you bought the game new) |

Dude, the game is definitely the roughest in the beginning. You start out with shitty weapons, no site upgrades, no magnum ammo, etc.
You definitely should stick with it! Vietnam might a good place to level up since you don't unlock anything but you do level up so when you go back to the base game you should be getting unlocks for it despite not playing it. |

The no sights is a HUGE deal, I was still able to do decent (I was going negative, but as a medic I was still able to perform my role well). The instant I got the red dot, I was able to do positive and do just as well as a medic. Have recently switched to a med kit perk because I got the XM8 and am trying it out, since it has pretty good iron sights.
Still newish to the game (7 or 8 hours in) but I see no reason to play any other shooter right now. (keeping Halo and MAG for the occasional match, probably gonna ditch black ops though) The only thing pushing me away from vietnam is the price, not that it costs too much, but that I cant buy 1200 points. But will likely have to bite on it anyway. |

So, I played the heck out of the PS3 Version, lol. But now I want to rebuy it (I sold it a few months back) and... I prefer the PS3 Controller over my crappy mouse.
My problem lies in the fact that I've already maxed all the packs out, almost. And I love progression in sense of gaining weapons, perks, scopes, tools etc. I really wish there was a way to reset your stats. (I'm -not- going to make another PSN account just to start over BC2 multiplayer.) So.. I dunno. |
