Valentines day.

Hey CAGs!
Just made this blog post to attempt to fathom why so many people are grumpy about Valentines day. I don't really understand it, I'm single, and I feel no more bitter or unhappy about being single then I do any other day. I woke up this morning, logged onto facebook, and tracing back from about midnight to now every other facebook status was about how people hate valentines day. Not one of them specified why. like I understand they're unhappy about being single during a day where everyone in a relationship is celebrated. But, does everyone get upset and bitch during any one else's birthday? In my opinion it seems childish and completely unreasonable. I don't know...perhaps some CAGs can help me understand. Thanks for reading! EDIT: I forgot to mention that, on facebook, almost every negative valentines day status is from women. Just pointing that out. |

*facepalm* I've said it numerous times, there's nothing wrong with being single. Never has, never will. Fact is people in relationships are more likely to be unhappy for a variety of reasons. I've seen a few friends go through such a mess and decided I don't want to join their misery.
Find something you like and go with that. I chose gaming. Maybe you can collect things, travel, go shopping, I dunno. I went to work and will probably spend the evening playing the KZ3 beta or starting a new game since I'm nearly done with LBP2. |

I went through the same thing at work today. Everyone was in a pissy mood, and I don't know why. These aren't just single people, some are dating, some are married. I'm not that into Valentine's Day,but this was depressing. I just did my best to not let it bring me down.
Maybe everyone just had a case of the Mondays. |

LottaGames, you seem to have misunderstood this blog post. I haven't got any sort of special relationship with the day, I just found it puzzling how grumpy everyone is. And once again, I have read posts from you using video games as something to get away from this sort of social issue. Video games are for escaping your reality, but you can't run away from your reality, it'll catch right up to you.

All I did was explain why. For some unknown reason people think they HAVE to do this when it's not true. It's not a social issue, it's a means of depression. That's why I said find something to occupy your time that you enjoy. I chose gaming but others can choose anything else.
Oh, reality sucks already. I avoid the news because all they do is rub in that fact. It's better to stay away from those lunatics that make up 'society'. Dunno what you mean catch up to me, I've done fine all these years so why not enjoy some more? Before you ask, yes I work. No, I'm not under/inside a rock. And everyone can call me LG instead of typing it out all the time. |

Do you ever wonder why your posts are almost always sooo negative? Do you realize that you are THE unhappiest (sounding at least) person in this blog post? Do you see that there are usually many other CAGs that berate your comments? Before you start coming up with some defensive comments, REALLY be honest with yourself and answer these questions to yourself. Why does this topic make you so mad? Why aren't you happier? |

Oh, do I sound mad? I'm really not. Note I'm not the one complaining about the holiday. Everyone else is and I guess I'm just curious as to why. It's their own fault for getting into that situation. Perhaps they regret caving in to peer pressure.
I did however complain about society but that's been a mess for years, no surprise to anyone. Things are worse now than before. To anyone older than 10 you should consider what you used to be able to do that you can't now. I'm not mad I just stay home. Easy peasy. |

when did being in a relationship become caving into peer pressure and getting into a situation? You really want to be alone for the rest of your life playing video games? You don't want your own family? Companionship? Someone to share your life with? Kids? Grandkids?
Just seems like a lonely way to go through life. |

1. Recently got dumped 2. Just got denied by some girl you thought liked you As for "society" being a mess did you just wake up chill out man. You need to go out going a gym beat a punching bag around and let out your pent up anger you have. I like Valentine's Day it's a pretty sweet holiday, if anything perfect time to score since alot of single ladies with self esteem issues are at there lowest. Now if you have no game then that is a different story. Then you need to put down the controller and actually get some putang. Or smoke some 420. |

I don't know. I'm single and got a Vday gift. Also, I get to watch one of my favorite Simpsons episode "I love lisa". Lol
