February Pick-Ups 2011

So despite my best intentions to cut back in February it didn't quite happen. To many sales and great releases got me.

To start with I got the family Kinect.

We started with Adventures, Kinectimals(for the kids) and Your Shape: Fitness Evolved. Got the two games for two for $70 at Best Buy so saved $30. The Best Buy did the one day sale on Kinect Sports for $29.99 so added that today.

I also hit the Borders closure sale locally.

Grabbed Siege hardcover and Old Man Logan for 20% off. Still a bit expensive but Old Man Logan especially is an awesome read. I also tried to fill out my magna and import novels a bit.

Grabbed Vampire Hunter D volumes 14 and 15. (I also got 12 and 13 which I found I already owned). The Vampire Hunter D manga volumes 3 and 4, and .hack//GU Volume 3. All at 20% off. I also threw in the VH Encyclopedia.

A number of Blu-Ray sales also hit. Got Scott Pilgrim, Kick-Ass, Legend of the Guardians and Beauty and the Beast all for $12.99 to $16.99 At Best Buy.

Also grabbed Kingdom of Heaven Director's Cut for $12 at Target, and Megamind from Amazon.

Now onto the main event of gaming. Console wise it was light.

Just added Hyperdimension Neptunia and Marvel vs. Capcom 3 from Gamestop. Also grabbed Bayonetta on sale from Amazon.

In the handheld area though February shined.

Ys: The Oath in Felghana (Gamestop) and Ys: I and II Chronicles(Amazon) both got into my collection. Now that I have I and II I can start playing the series.

Also grabbed Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together (Amazon) for PSP. The guide I ordered but it isn't here yet.

For the DS I picked up Mega Man Zero Collection (Gamestop), Radiant Historia (Amazon) and Dragon Quest VI(Gamestop) with the rather massive guide.

Also a few PSN and XBLA titles were thrown in but no one cares about those. So February was much larger then I hoped. March looks a bit better with Dragon Age 2, Phantom Brave, Lego Star Wars 3, the 3rd Birthday, and a new Ar Tonelico but I don't think much else.

>_> I know the feeling. I decided to go Cold Turkey this month.. or at the very least, cut back a little, but I went over budget.

Still awaiting my TO guide as well. Best of luck getting your 360 back, and here's to March.

Nice pick ups, Im interested in that Neptunia game, despite most people saying its not very good. I want to wait for a price drop but I think its one of those that the price will only go up situations.
Very nice pickups. I'm still on the fence about Kinect. On one hand, I want to get it, just to try it. But, on the other hand, I'm not really sure I want another motion control option and the current library of games isn't quite enough to convince to make the jump. I'm sure I will end up getting it at some point, but I still think I'm going to hold off for a little while.

I didn't do as well this month with not getting pickups either. I know I bought at least 3 games, which isn't too bad. The problem is, there are still a ton of other games I want to pickup, my backlog isn't getting any smaller and the games I did get aren't even games that are any good, so I really should have just held off... but I just can't seem to resist anymore

I tempted to pick up Megamind. I didn't get to see the movie in theaters, but it looks pretty interesting and for the price it is always nice to add another Blu-Ray to the collection. Have you seen it yet, if so how did you like it? I haven't picked up any of the cheap Disney movies lately either, mostly because I already have them on DVD, so I don't think I need to rebuy them all, even if they are cheap. I haven't seen most of them since I was little (some I don't think I have seen) so I should probably go back and watch them.

Again, awesome pickups, enjoy all your new toys!

@JEKKI: They always do....they always do

@Daddy: I can't help you. I haven't played iet yet.

@1NintendoFan: I wasn't sure on Kinect either but I have to say so far everyone has had a lot of fun with it. As for Megamind, we haven't watched it yet. The kids wanted it and it was only $19.99 so I just went ahead and got it for them.
