To celebrate GDC, Epic offers another Gears of War 2 week long XP event. Well, I haven't had Gears of War 2 for a long time, but I just happened to be borrowing my son's. For shits and giggles, I decided to play again. It has been almost a year since I last played online, making level 50 and finishing up every achievement except Seriously 2.0 and Veteran Gear.

I start out just knowing I'll get my ass handed to me. I was right. After a few games, I finally started to get into the swing of things. I've never been the greatest at GOW2 online. I think its fun mayhem. I was surprised to see that I have about a 1.3 k/d ratio according to my stats online. I won't even mention my win/loss ratio.

I have to admit. Though I never really had friends that played GOW2 online, I kind of miss it. I really wish I'd taken advantage of the crazy XP events they had before. I realize going to 100 from 50 is craziness and I don't think I'll do it, but it's a fun game if you can look past some of the "problems" it has (lag, shotgun overpowered, some glitches).



I'm really looking forward to Gears of War 3. I love the story and atmosphere. I've read the first two novels and they fit wonderfully in the whole story adding some much needed background and depth. Can't wait to take another run with Delta Squad again.
