Have a Website or Business? Advertise on my Toyota Prius (Only $1 a day!) ^_^ |
1109 views |
![]() Hey guys, as you may have read...yesterday my car was vandalized by a hoodlum downtown in a nearby city to where I live. A kid threw several rocks and dented the side of my beautiful blue 2007 Prius. I went today and found that in order to fix it, it'll be $1000+. In order to get the money to pay for the repairs I'm looking for some outside-of-the-box methods. I'm offering a chance for you to advertise your business or website on my car using magnetic ads. I have special materials that are capable of printing full color advertisements on magnetic backing and am willing to put ads for your website on my car for the low price of $1.00 a day (Minimum of $10 since I have to use the magnetic material which isn't cheap). If you are interested in helping me recoup the cost of repairs to my car, please let me know. I'd be happy to drive around with your ad on my car. I only have a few rules: 1) No offensive material (curses, racially charged language, gruesome or overly violent imagery, anti-religious statements or political messages) 2) My $1.00 a day will be for an ad roughly 1/4 the size of a sheet of computer paper (8.5" x 11"). If you're interested in a larger ad, just let me know and I can work out something with you. Thanks so much! Please let me know if you are interested Sincerely, JJ Parks ^_^ |

How many miles do you drive a day? Urban, suburban, or rural driving? How many miles do you drive highway/interstate and how many miles do you drive city roads? What city? How about weekend driving?

I do a LOT of driving. This week I'm driving from Connecticut down to Washington DC/Maryland. On an average week I drive about 400-500 miles and drive mainly to the casinos (Foxwoods / Mohegan Sun ... the two largest in the world), the University of Connecticut as well as Providence, Rhode Island. I frequently drive down to Hartford, CT as well so I'm really all over the state and the northeast.
Thanks for your interest spoo! |

Is $1 a day really worth it? Are you going to have just one ad on at a time? Or would you put bunches up at once? $365/$1000 in a year aint a ton...

I think the ads are too small. You'll need a bunch of ads to reach the $1000. But still a pretty cool idea.

I'm definitely for real klingon666. I didn't just buy the car outright, I financed it over 6 years.... in addition, I have a lot of other debt right now and can't afford $1000 to fix a few small dents (outrageous).
Well I can do larger ads Escobar4life. I'm not expecting to make back the entire $1000...but every little bit would count certainly. DesertEagleXIX, thanks so much! I'll definitely PM you |

I saw this TV commercial one time for a tool called pop-a-dent where you just stick this thing onto your car, twist the nob, and it'll pop out a dent in your car (they tested it on a car in the commercial and it worked.) I have no idea where you'd find one though. Try ebay? It's better than spending $1000.
Let me know if this helps. |

I'm pretty sure that's covered by insurance. It looks fairly new, so don't you have to have near full coverage on it?

Jack-Hunter, I have heard of that product as well but I've also heard that it doesn't work as well as the commercials claim. I'm going to try to bring it to a Paintless Dent Repair place today as they estimate it'll be only about $250 or so to fix the dents...which is a lot better.
Drone8888, Yes insurance will cover it...the problem is I have a $1000 deductable meaning I'd have to pay all but $10 of the service...which pretty much makes my insurance not worth it. Sucks doesn't it? :( |

I tried that dent remover thing from TV and it's shit. Don't waste your $15. Sorry about the car. Wish I could afford one.

Yeah I heard that it was crap too which is why I didn't even bother trying it. The bad news is that Dent Wizard (the Paintless Dent Repair) place said that the metal is too bent to be popped out and that it looks like the $1000+ repairs are my only option. Sucks to be me. =(
I have one person who is interested in advertising on my car...surely at least one other is? =P Let me know ^_^ |

Try this out: http://www.metacafe.com/watch/501379...ith_airduster/
I saw something similar online with dry ice on a hot day instead of using the upside down compressed air can. A lot of people says it works for medium sized dents (fist sized I'm assuming). G'luck! |

Thanks doraemonkerpal for the suggestion. Sadly, I already spent $15 on supplies to try the air duster idea and it didn't work. The reason is that the dent isn't merely a dent, but rather the metal was creased due to the rocks the kid threw at my car and the velocity that he threw them. That's why Toyota says they'd have to physically remove the door and replace sections of it.
Vandalism is NOT cool folks :( |
