old PS3 closure plus game play

It's been an awesome week so far. Got my PS3 60 gig back on monday. Since this a secondary system, I put it in a different cabinet. I gotta say it works well and no issues, except the PS3 seems to need more breathing room, which was no issue in the other cabinet I had it in but right now this cabinet had the 360 sharing it and the fans were running big time and it was really warm. Noticing this I riped the back fake wood from the upper part of the cabinet to give the PS3 more breathing room. This did work and the fans shut off and I havn't had that issue since.
Since the system seemed to be running fine, I put my old PS3 hard drive(320 gig) in the system. What I thought would happen since this PS3 isn't the exact same one, the system needed to format. So after that I had to spend monday and tuesday restoring games back on the PS3. Then I noticed I couldn't access movies to download. I called Sony on wednesday and they deactivated my old system and I activated the new system. I then noticed I can't redownload movies that I had already purchased so I guess I'm screwed there. Thankfully I havn't spent much on movies. I also started to use the Cloud service to transfer game saves. I did this monday night, transfered a bunch of games to see how this service works. Mainly because I can play the games I want. I had an issue I uploaded MLB 11 the show Franchise save and RTTS save and the roster save on monday. On tuesday night(after 24 hours), I tried to download the roster update from the cloud on the other system and it worked but the save files didn't work. Then I tried each of the save files and it said I can't download for another 24 hours for this game!! WTF? During my call with Sony I brought this up and they said it was for copyright reasons. I told them that was BS because I can transfer with my game saves from my 360 whereever via a memory unit. After my long conversation with Sony later that night I could transfer the Franchise and RTTS save to the new system so it seems to work now. Not sure why it truly acted like that. I'm not sure if other people are having issues. I feel I am a rare case now having 2 PS3s in the house. My kids are thrilled. My kids were thrilled to be able to play in 2 different rooms with the PS3. Nice part for us is we can play blu rays and PS3 games in separate rooms which is sweet.

Speaking of things that are sweet. I was playing MLB 11 the show in franchise. Ryan Howard looked like he hit a homerun during a game I was playing against the Marlins I thought it could have been fair and the game called it just foul. I few seconds after they called it foul, umpires gathered on the field and it went under video review. It was sweet, ball was still foul but I love the attention to detail. Also they had Jackie Robinson day which all players wore #42 and all the scoreboard had #42 all over the boards so I had no idea what pitcher was pitching in other games. This game reminds me again and again what a great game is like.

I played more of Pokemon white. I have 5 gym badges so far and it's a great game still. I hope to finish by next sunday when I get my 3DS.

Don't you love all the unexpected surprises when you have to do things like this. At least you have it all fixed and ready to go now.

I like the MLB games, I have found them to be a lot of fun when I have played them. But I hate it when there are calls in the game that you don't agree with. Luckily, it doesn't happen too often, but it can still be annoying.

I don't have Pokemon Black/White yet, I'm not sure if I'm going to get it. I have SoulSilver and I'm just not sure if Pokemon is my style of game. I'm still considering getting it though, but probably once I'm closer to finishing SoulSilver.

I'm very jealous that your getting the 3DS though. I'm so tempted to get one, I just feel like I need to hold off a little while. I would love to see it in person and use it before buying it as well. So, for now, I'm going to hold off, but I don't know how long I will be able to because I really, really want to get the system. Be sure to give us all the details when you get yours

Hahahaha I did the same wthing with my PS3. I yanked all the fake wood off the back of my entertainment system to give it room to breath.
