Why Are COD 4 "New" Maps Hated So Much?

About 4 months ago, Infinity Ward released 4 new maps for Call of Duty 4. I downloaded these maps a few weeks ago and I personally enjoy them. But it seems to me that a lot of people hate these maps. As soon as these maps appear in the lobby there are a few votes to skip the map. And more often then not the map gets enough votes to skip it. Earlier I was playing and Chinatown was to be next. Sure enough 3 or 4 people instantly voted to skip it and one guy started saying "skip" over and over. The vote eventually got to 5 of the required 7 and the match was to start soon and 3 of the skip voters left the lobby. The maps that are included in the game get far less votes to skip and when they actually do get skipped it usually takes a while to actually pass.

I don't think the maps are that bad. They aren't my favorite but they are not my least favorite. Creek is a fun map because of the different paths that you can take and hopefully get behind the enemy. Chinatown is a decent map with all the buildings and windows. Broadcast is a good map because of the interior and exterior parts and various routes. I haven't played Killhouse so I can't give my opinion on that map.

So I don't understand all the hate for the new maps and the constant voting to skip them. Maybe its because of the lack of sniping areas in Chinatown and Broadcast. Whats your opinions on these maps?

I HATE creek with a passion because it's just a garbage map. Too much sniping - not much room for running and gunning (my preferred method).

Chinatown and Broadcast are a lot of fun IMO.

lol @ Xbox 360 CoD4 players

I get these maps for free on PC

As for the hate, I like Broadcast. China and Creek are kinda lame though
