Troy Baker, Mary Elizabeth McGlynn, Massimo Guarini, and Akira Yamaoka perform in San Francisco
Just got back from EA's press event where they were showing off Grasshopper Manufacture's Shadows of the Damned, although the real highlight of the evening was seeing Akira Yamaoka perform. It was actually a real surprise for me since I expected him to show up and just play with whatever random backers EA could get together, but as soon as the singer opened her mouth I was like, holy crap, that's Mary Elizabeth McGlynn. I had no idea what she looked like, but her voice was unmistakable. After a couple songs, she introduced the rest of the group and explained that it was her first chance to perform live with Yamaoka since they started collaborating almost a decade ago. They went on to play a few songs from Silent Hill 3 and 4 and then did Godzilla for an encore. (Yes,
that Godzilla.) Pretty amazing.
Thanks to bluedotlounge for hooking it up.
