So as you all know I have been very busy hosting multiple lowball sales, but I have also been busy playing my multitude of games. Today I bring to you Dead Space Extraction, which was a surprisingly good game. I must admit when I first turned the game on I wasnt expecting anything special and that it was just like most other rail shooters. Well to be honest the gameplay is just like all other rail shooters, but with the disturbed story of Dead Space.

I loved playing the first Dead Space because it had the fear that Resident Evil used to instill in me. Unfortunately this game doesnt share the same scare factor that part one has, but the story is still just as good and a lot longer than I expected.

One of the things I enjoyed most about this game was that it showed how the ishimura got over run by the necromorphs and how the game also plays through different character perspectives. Sure the game play did get a little tedious at times and there are a couple glitches like if a necromorph gets off screen you cannot proceed because it isnt dead forcing you to restart and go through the whole level again, but once you get past that it's extremely easy to enjoy the story.

The difficulty can be picked from the beginning and once you beat the game it unlocks two more difficulties. The weapons are all familiar if you played the first game yet some to me seem useless.

The most shocking part of the game was the end. As you progress through the game the people you play as start to become delusional as they are affected by the marker. The chapter before the end pits you against one of the giant creatures that Issac faces that is attached to the ship. After defeating the boss the game then puts you in a tough spot where the character's hand get impaled to the ship by the creature he just defeated. His delusion then kicks in and he hears the voice of a fallen comrade telling him that he know what to do, you are then forced to cut off your arm, which the game does not do so in a form of a cinematic but instead makes you, the player, do so.

Overall the game is enjoyable and to me ranked at a 3.5-4 out of 5 and definitely recommended to those who are Dead Space fans. If you are not a fan of rail shooters then perhaps you should skip this one.
