Holy Wow. I'm not a big reader, but this was highly recommended by a friend. He described it as "the Matrix crossed with Lord of the Rings" and it really is a spot-on analogy. I won't go into a whole review of the series, but will say that if you like an amazingly well told and lengthy story about all kinds of geeky stuff that's driven by a great, twist filled story with excellent character development.... pick the books up. Great, great stuff.

I agree, great series. Been awhile since I read them, but reminds me to pick up more of Tad Williams stuff.

I would say that it's good, but in dire need of editing. It's padded way too long for no good reason. Good for you for sticking it out to the end.
I could barely finish the first book... Not my cup of tea.

The second book is a bit grueling, but once you get through that, book three flies by and book four is a lesson on WTF story twists.
