I used to consider my best platinum to be SF4/SSF4, but even then, I did boost half of C to Shining C, plus boosted most of the matches in SF4 with a second PS3. This one I earned entirely on my own, without any real boosting (because you can't boost ranked in AH3).

I own the Japanese version, but for some reason all my trophies got overwritten to English, sigh.

As you can see, only 15 people on yourgamercard have the platinum (as of now at least), so I think I've done good.

I may not be that great at the game (I'm really only good with 1 character), but with a decent knowledge of the basics and at least 1-2 average combos (by average I mean 7-9000 damage), that's enough to beat scrubs soundly. My win ratio with everyone was close to 60% on average, which is damn impressive considering I was playing with characters I had 0 idea how to use (Kamui, Konoha, Maori, etc) and yet was still getting convincing wins vs people with higher leveled people and actual strategies.

Even if I had earned C to Shining C legitly, I probably would still value the matching AH3 trophy (get everyone to RP3) higher because the movesets vary so wildly, plus the amount of shenanigans this game has.

As a comparison of the painful online trophies in other fighting games I have:

SF4 doesn't have this kind of trophy, just the title/icons ones that require a huge amount of matches. The trials are the killer here but the online side is nothing special.

SSF4 has the infamous C to Shining C, which is true hell. A minimum of 16 wins per character in ranked is nuts, but since it's EASILY boostable, it's not nearly that bad. So this one has the double whammy of trials + massive online play.

Blazblue CT has a D-Code 30 trophy, but I got that with Jin super easily in ranked. The online level of players in that game went to crap after CS came out, so this is a cakewalk to get. The only annoying one would be player matches I guess.

Blazblue CS has the D-Code 50 trophy. This one is nuts because online players in this game seem to be really insane. However, this is again easily boostable with turbo, so the bottleneck would probably be the challenges - hard, but doable with practice. Easier than SSF4 for sure.

MvC3 had the one trophy for 1st rank, but it's not nearly as bad since you don't have to reach that rank yourself, and I'm sure 1st rank people are all over nowadays. The limiting factor in this game would also be challenges, but they are easy, so nothing to write home about there.

Meanwhile, I suppose Arcana Heart 3 could be boosted in ranked if you just left the ps3 on overnight turboing ranked matches, but then you end up with a 10% or less win ratio which is pitiful. I couldn't live with myself doing that (at least in SSF4 the boosting left me with 50% minimum, which I can handle). The non-online trophies are tricky but still not too bad (unless you don't own a stick with fast turbo like the HRAP3, then you're in trouble for Akane's trophy).

**honorable mention: Tekken 6's hardest trophy would be a single ranked win online. **

Anyway, I'm just glad to be done, and Catherine comes out soon, so now I'm free for that!

That's impressive. I love 2D fighters but I suck at them. Congratulations!

So... which of those games did you boost in yourself?

I boosted BBCS's lvl 50 (got up to ~20 on my own but the players were too good), half of SF4 (I got up to 400 wins myself and gave up on the rest), and half of SSF4's C to C. MvC3 was just a matter of messaging the 1st rank person to fight him once (and it was a sound loss).

Generally I'm not the type to spend hours online in versus games, which is why this was such an unusual feat for me. My brother would sit on SSF4 online for a day straight and I always wondered at the motivation for that, but then I did the same for AH3, so now I finally understand.

By the way, SF4's online was (is?) so scrubby that I started going easy on people so that they wouldn't quit on me after the first match (I was doing player matches). It was harder to find my matches than it was to win them...

You have to come to my house and do the trails for me so I can finally get the damn platinum.

Did you do it on controller or stick?

If you were local, I wouldn't mind, but I don't think I could even do some of the sf4/ssf4 trials again in a reasonable amount of time.

I play on stick.
