I took advantage of the $19.99 Gamestop Power Rewards coupon to pick up NCAA Football 12. I also received Goldeneye 007 in the mail from GS for $9.99. That led me to a question I couldn't remember and will not be able to find out. Did I ever beat Goldeneye the first time around? I'm sure many of you have stories of 4 player split screen that remind you of some of the greatest times you've had gaming. Goldeneye is the game in my story. During my first Persian Gulf deployment onboard USS Abraham Lincoln in 2000-2001, we played that game to death! We would put on the stereo, listen to the Deftones "White Pony," and commence killing. Personally, I sucked, but the camaraderie of playing that game with close friends as a way to unwind after ridiculous working hours, qualifications, drills, and the monotony of not seeing land for months on end. Unfortunately, I won't be able to replicate that experience on the Wii because of friend codes and a lack of people with Wii's that enjoy games like Goldeneye. I'm not asking for Wii-friends to play the game. That's not the point. The point is, it's a great game that I will go through to ensure that it has been beaten and it will, hopefully, at least bring back some fond memories of some of my greatest gaming experiences.
Should we pity the younger gamers that have only experienced online gaming? Co-op couch play is/was great.
