One of the most interesting things about Otakon 2011 was the Ice Cold Water Dude in downtown Baltimore, MD Inner Harbor area. It's quite common to see people sell water around the city for a cheap price, but one guy took it to another level. Instead of just shouting it, he decides to use a mega phone getting everyone's attention. I decided to record a video of him myself while walking outside the Baltimore Convention Center



Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, he was outside selling Ice Cold Water, only $1. His tune stuck in all of our heads, where many of us were saying throughout the convention (I got dat ice cold water. Only one dollaa). Instead of saying the "Marco Polo" at Otakon (during many times), People were shouting "Ice Cold Water", then others responded with "It's only $1"). The ice cold water guy became such a hit with TONS recording videos of him throughout Otakon weekend. Many recorded a video right in front of him and he performed. One time someone asked him what if they buy water from him for $0.80 or $0.85, so he responded with this (I got that video shockingly)



It's funny because while in line for the dealers room, people were telling me that if you search ice cold water, several videos of that guy came up, even way before Otakon. I heard he does the same thing for Orioles games (you can see ice cold water Baltimore as a search result). This guy has been selling water like this for a long time, but he just started to use a mega phone I believe.

The guy has become such a huge hit where "ice cold water, only $1" because the newest meme at Otakon. Tons of people are saying it on the Otakon Facebook page, and it even led to an Ice Cold Water guy Facebook page created. Only been up for a day with over 2000 likes already. A bunch of people want to cosplay as the Ice Cold Water guy next year at Otakon. We bet he'll be making a ton of people since he became the celebrity (people want to buy water from him, no one else). The guy does travel throughout Baltimore doing this. He has spawned several funny remixed videos on YouTube, along with this picture Andrew made on Facebook:


So it seems like whenever people go back to downtown Baltimore, MD for any event, they'll be watching out for the Ice Cold Water dude.
