Nope. I agree 100%. I even purchased Syndicate as one of my first games when I bought a mac for design school back in 1992 or 93

Holy crap that's what that game is called! I used to play Syndicate all the time but had forgotten the name. I could only ever make it to the second or third level but would always come back and play over and over.

It would never fly but I would like them to make a tactics game out of it.

Never played the old ones,but I always wanted too.Now this will probably be a good FPS since its made by Starbreeze who made The Chronicles of Riddick,and The Darkness which were excellent shooters.

I love a good game in pretty much any genre but yeah, I really wish X-com had stayed the way it was. Thankfully the originals are cheap on Steam and I got a great deal on the PSX version if I ever feel like playing it on PS3.

I knew a bit about Syndicate back in the day but I never played it so I can't really comment.

I have no godly idea why they're making an X-Com FPS. People who liked the old X-Coms think it's stupid, and people who haven't heard of the old X-Coms give zero s. So they've pissed off a small but devoted group of fans and gained nothing.

Videogames!

Love the originals, but truthfully it seems to be the way to go with these older IPs. One thing Ive noticed is that all these games try to continue their success but failed after a while (XCOM apocalypse, Syndicate 2 to name a few) so now they are just doing what is an obvious cash grab. Im not sore about it because anything is better than nothing, and hopefully will get them to remake the originals or rerelease them somehow. Also, FPS translate to console games better than the micromanagment of Syndicate and Xcom which is easy money. Also as much as I hate to say it, I know the newer generation of gamers wont stand for some of the gameplay mechanics in the original games. (Permanent death of characters...)

On a sidenote, anyone thats a fan of the old xcoms, I find the UFO series to be not bad Xcom clone that can be found cheap at GOG. Also a GBA game called Sigma Star Saga.

Yea .. fun times with Xcom!! Also what tankass said is true ... if you loved Xcom , then Rebelstar: Tactical Command for the GBA is frigging awesome!!!!

They should put both out for iOS. I would buy in a heartbeat.

I never played Syndicate, will rectify this, an to this day i still play the original xcom and terror from the deep when i need a change. I even still play the original fall out.

On a side note i am a novice computer programmer and graphic designer and would love to make not an ok, good but great Xcom style game and have a lot of ideas already down on paper and just need help to bring the project to life

What platform are you interested in making it for?

I was first thinking PC, but i think IPAD would be a good place for it to. I even thought of it as a PS3 or XBOX arcade game. Basically what ever. Worst case make a version for everyone.
