Dark Souls imminent release! Do I let it consume both my soul and my wallet?

I really enjoyed Demon's Souls. Dark Souls looks like more of the same. I want to support From Software by contributing to their release sales, but I'm not sure if the "Collector"s Edition" is enough to convince me to preorder.

I've set aside around $250 to last me the whole holiday season in terms of entertainment purchases. This includes movies, shows, books, and games and Black Friday sales.

It's pretty certain that Dark Souls will be sub-$40 by Black Friday at some point or another, but again: I'd like to support From Software because I really like what they are doing.

Should I cut a relatively large portion out of my holiday spending rest-of-the-year budget to preorder Dark Souls Collector's Edition for $60?

(Funny story: I played through Demon's Souls purely melee and bow for my first playthrough. I never figured out how to purchase/use magic on my first run.)

I would advise that you at least put like $5 or $10 down on it at Gamestop or something. That way, the Collector's Edition will always be there for you. You can pay it off slowly over time even after it comes out.

Dark Souls is one of the few games this year that I'll be getting on release day.

I easily put over 200+ hours into Demon's Souls, and if I get any where near that much enjoyment from the sequel, then it's well worth the money for me.

You just gotta decide whether it's worth paying full price to get it on release day or if you can hold off a while to get it at a discount.
